The M2 Carbine has WAY too much recoil and makes me not use it

Those two are also at the very end of the game and it’s been mentioned during a livestream a month or two ago that they have plans to add the STG to Normandy, which is likely when it will sit properly in the tree as the counterpart to the M2.

Unless they changed their minds, once it gets added, then we will see the M2 having a proper counterpart.

Yes I’d suspect some moving around to happen with additions or moved higher or lower levels

Recoil isn’t all about the caliber of the round you are firing.

Muzzle rise, power factor, recoil operation, etc.

Not to mention that the gun shouldn’t be here anyway. Very few M2 carbines saw use in WW2, and even those were mostly in the closing days of Japan. It had no business being used against germany.

You already have the jumbo as a crutch, funny to see that US players want yet another crutch that has no place being there.

Dude are you serious? There were only around 7 thousand FG 42’s produced and they were given to paratrooper units only, yet the Germans can give it to all their rifleman and you wanna tell me about guns that “shouldn’t be there anyway”? The Germans also get the G43 sniper at level 14 while the US gets another springfield, the Germans basically get a 10 round M1 Garand at level 7, what is basically a BAR for all their rifleman at level 23, and the MG 34 and MG 42 which are in a league all their own, and you wanna talk about US players wanting a crutch? Smh German mains can’t let the US get anything or that would be “unfair”.

It’s almost as if all of those german guns actually existed at normandy…huh, how strange.

Meanwhile we have the Jumbo which…did not exist there and ger tanks can’t deal with it, only CAS and detpacks can, and the M2 which also…strangely did not exist there. If I go through the US tree I wouldn’t be surprised to find a 3rd thing that once again, doesn’t belong there because it didn’t exist.

Edit: Not to mention that stats wise, the majority of german guns are worse than their counterparts. Only a few stand out as plain better.

German can’t tanks deal with the Jumbo? Oh sorry judging from your posts you must be one of those German players that charge my Jumbo from the front in a Puma and when you die you’re like “how could this happen? America so OP devs nerf pls!” They’re probably going to expand the Campaign’s anyways if they want this game to live for a long time, so even if you whine enough and get the Jumbo removed it’s coming back lol. You’re also cherry picking really hard with the “those guns existed at Normandy” when very few of them did if they were in the area at all.

I mean the German airforce was also non existant on d day is that a crutch too? Shall we take away all german air support? Seems the only legit counterbalance German players have is to say “but the jumbo!” when confronted

German air support was in-fact, there.

Either way, german airforce is extremely easily deleted over the face that the US can have 2 planes out, while the germans only get one.

The jumbo causes a lot of balance problems that shouldn’t exist as the vehicle shouldn’t be there. The airforce does not, it can be blocked completely easily.

“The airforce does not, it can be blocked completely easily.” This is VERY subjective, especially when you consider that the Germans get the Ju 188. I could say the same about the Jumbo since all it takes to kill it is one good TNT pack or bomb. Also this thread is way off topic, I don’t wanna debate the balance of this entire game. This is about the M2 Carbine having too much recoil, or was at least supposed to be about that.

Lol so which version of history do you want? How many bombing runs did the Germans conduct in Normandy? How many Pz4s hit the beachs to block the allies? Right so pick and choose the history I see. Every time someone brings up the odd use of the FG42 for everyone in game it’s the same argument about the jumbo

Incorrect, I want to get as close to balance as we can while still retaining the fact that each faction has different pros and cons.

And yes, the jumbo is brought up because it actively breaks in the game in a way nothing else does. If the player is half competent in a jumbo, you cannot kill him other than CAS. And if they have competent pilots, you cannot kill it at ALL which is a massive problem.

As for the M2 carbine, the gun is perfectly fine. I just checked it, full auto in maximum 10 meters, anything past is burst-fire and it performs wonderfully. The recoil on that thing is not much worse than the Beretta is, actually I find the Beretta to be worse in terms of recoil.

This entire thread is a skill problem disguised as a balance problem.

You definitely do not have the M2 then. “Performs wonderfully” hahahaha wow yeah ok. Like the Germans unable to counter one tank, also a skill problem

Ah yes, because having a tank be completely impenetrable from the front and requiring CAS or the driver being dumb and putting himself in a bad position is definitely a skill problem.

Its one tank. Germans get the non existant bombers on Normandy all day long. Skill problem

So basically the US gets an endgame rifle that sucks beyond 10 meters, nice logic bro. Listen, if you aren’t gonna take this seriously just don’t reply. You’ve already marked a few of my responses as spam and it’s obvious you’re gonna defend the recoil on the M2 Carbine no matter what. Also the Jumbo is not that hard to kill, idk if we’re fighting the same tank but it’s really not that bad. I fight them as Germany and have no problem killing them.

So what’s your American campaign level? Play the jumbo much? I bet not. Just keep false flagging posts though because you know you’re wrong

See what I said about the jumbo driver being competent at which point you can’t get close with infantry to detpack it, or you can CAS it, or if the driver is dumb it’s easy to get rid of it, but then again that applies to every tank.

And?

This isn’t COD. Guns have pro’s and con’s, the M2 carbine is an SMG, and has a semi-auto mode for long range. Not much different than the german Beretta, fantastic in 5-10 meters, past that, it’s borderline useless because of it’s recoil that goes to heaven and non-existent accuracy.

If you want to use the M2 at a distance, pop it in semi-auto mode, that is why that mode exists.

So what’s your American campaign level. Tell me about how much you’ve used the M2 and Jumbo

Imagine if the Germans finally got their STG 44 and it wasn’t usable beyond 10 meters because of recoil. I bet you would be singing a different tune then. I don’t understand why me asking for the M2 Carbine to have more controllable recoil is such a sin in your eyes dude.

STG44 was designed for mid-range encounters and the ROF is significantly lower than the M2 carbine is, so that wouldn’t really happen. Different guns, different needs.

The M2 full auto is designed for CQC, semi-auto is designed for range.

STG44 vs M2 at close range = M2 wins every time, STG44 vs M2 at mid range = STG44 wins.
