Cool kill.
Next time you may try a “battlefield” kill…
Put the TNT on your own tank, drive it past the enemy tank, jump out and blow them both up (hopefully)

Same.

I did so in my lil Stuart Rhino vs a pz4H (biggest enemy tank back then).

At first he realized I got close because I was sneaky… but chose to ignore me! He was shooting at the beach…
Then after a while he realized his components were all going out one by one as Rhino DID PEN BETTER and sometimes managed to pierce pz4h in some spots. So he started panicking… but being tracked out and me circling around it like a mosquito he couldn’t do much… caught fire, and exploded :smile:

This only proves how pathetically poor the post pen damage is of Sherman main guns.

Not gonne lie, this was an amazing kill, but your Stug with only 50mm of flat armor should have been disabled after the second shot.

I don’t know where he was shooting. Audio indicates all shells bounced.

It did penetrate, but Shermans don’t deal any damage unless hitting exactly vital parts.

Alot of penetration shots will be absorbed by the transmission of the Stug, without actually hurting the crew, which generally speaking isn’t a bad thing, but with other guns that actually have explosive filler, you would still deal area damage inside the tank, damaging ammo and tankers, so usually a penetration with most guns at least hurts, not so for Shermans.

Many US tanks suffer from the same issue Panthers did back in the days.

There should be a minimum amount of area damage inside a tank to insure that hits actually matter at least enough to hurt.

Except he damaged exactly nothing with the latter shots. So unless US deals no post pen damage (which I doubt), he didn’t pen.

I don’t say US doesn’t have bad post pen. I just don’t think that’s shown on the video.

Shermans have over 80mm of penetration power, even if he didn’t hit your 50 mm of frontal armor, I find it not very likely that he hit nothing.

well who knows, you might be right, it looks like the last shot scratched off your top armor.

you might have been simply very lucky.
