The infamous automatic rifles

Before starting this tread, we all agree that in current game the full-auto rifles are domimating the battle.

So, as many others already insisted, i think also that we should somehow limit the full-auto rifle. The importance of this topic is how do we restrict them from the game.

My thought is give it uniquely to riflemans. In other words, radio operator, engineer, mg gunner, anti-tanker, and flamethrower can’t use full-auto rifle. This way, people will now choose between other squads and the full 9 man rifle squad, because before people didn’t really used it. I think in this way people will more encouraged to pick rifle squad just like the radio operator after the smoke arti update.

Instead restore semi auto rof. It was the perfect stop gap weapon wich allowed players to compete even at lower lvls: okayish long range but not as good as bolt actions, okayish cqc but not as good as any automatics. Was perfect. Now people who didn’t learn in bolt actions heavy campaigns such as Moscow are struggling vs higher lvl.

But nerfs are NEVER good solutions. They always end up pissing someone and remove fun in the long run, plus they attract other nerfs… if auto rifles are nerfed, next they WILL have to nerf smgs, then lmg again… and so on.

Assault and Gunner soldier classes exist only to have automatic weapons, they don’t have other purpose. As such, those classes should be the only ones that have weapons with automatic fire mode.

Yeah, i agree. I hate the previous rof nerf, it is unhistorical, doesn’t make sense and wasn’t necessary. They should roll back it. But it is also true that the full-autos have to be somehow restricted in battlefield since none of the WW2 armies had that many full-auto in service and it doesn’t make sense every soldier armed with full-auto.

It’s true… but it’s a dangerous spiral the devs put their foot in. They nerfed semis, making them less effective in cqb, thus making bolt actions better. Now ppl complain about auto rifles… once those are nerfed all you’ll see are ppl using 3 assaulters squads and 2 lmg squads… then they’ll have to nerf those too. But then bolt actions will be “super ohk snipers” they’ll have to nerf… etc.

Ppl didn’t complain AS MUCH (they did but it was manageable) about full auto rifles before the semi nerf :thinking:

But then it causes firepower inflation. How you gonna buff bolt-action at a point they can fight against full-auto mosters? Or, semi-auto and bolt-action is just obsolete after getting full-auto? I don’t want Enlisted become like WT where more you grind more you get better weapon, cuz it will eventually occur power inflation (e.g. WT).

Yep. Nerfing something should be done subito presto. It needs more consideration of whole game. What I worry is that Enlisted become 1 demension game. What this means that more you grind more you get better stronger weapons. It will eventually cause power inflation, e.g. WT and i don’t want it to be happened. I want Enlisted more 2 dimension or 3 demension where each weapon you grind has there own caracteristics so you have choice( in terms of performamce) between lvl 1 bolt action and lvl 100 full auto HE firing mobile gatling rifle. It will make the game more volumious and deep.

100% agreed here… it’s why I hate the abysmally stupid semi nerf they made. Semis were able to compete easily vs late lvls auto rifles (I even preferred them to fg42 & company) but the best part was even low lvl players could compete, the power creep was small.
Heck ppl say “muuuh just use more assaulters!” Problem is low lvl players DON’T HAVE 3 assaulters squads like we do, they have 1 at best :expressionless:

Nah, Devs realeased a TON of AMAZING things, but I feel like they are been pushed by the snail to pour as much content as they can without having the time to test it or even think about what it will do…

Let’s nerf everything to the point where default rifles are the best meta weapons and nobody needs anything else because every other weapon is crippled by arbitrary restrictions.

Then, I’m sure the game will be A) perfectly balanced, B) super fun for everybody and, above all, C) super successful and profitable for the Devs when absolutely nothing is worth grinding or paying for.

I honestly never seen any frequent posts that were complaining about semi-auto rifles.
Decision that they made was most likely based on muh statistics.
And secondly, people always complained about full auto rifles… because they can be equipped by every single type of soldier in the game which kills variety and any sense of having dedicated classes.
That is, I believe, quite considerable difference that should be taken into account.

But it’s now worse, as auto rifles are as great as before, but stop gap semis are meh at best, and seriously only worthwhile if max star to at least reach near 14 damage…

Mind you, I don’t want auto rifles nerfed either, as weird as it looks. I hate every nerfs, they are ALWAYS requested first by mains of one faction wishing their opponents weaker at first, then by ppl who are simply plain bad and want things draged down to their level. Auto rifles are… fun to use. They were fine before retarded semi auto nerf when anyone could compete. Now, they are unmatched… So sadly instead of being smart, our devs will probably follow the path of retomoto and nerf everything like in H&G.

I don’t have any issues with the bolt action, semi, or full auto. They are as skilled as the player is. If you’re having trouble, modify your playstyle to suit what you have.

the only thing i hate about automatics rifles/carbines are the fact that they are used by classes that aren’t specialized in them which wouldn’t really be the case during ww2. korea however i won’t mind them
