This message will not be fun and is addressed to all players that are bored, and are pissed off, by a very recurrent/common “non-habit”, a very bad behavior of most of allies (mostly when playing solo without friends and/or advances players) that can lead to literally enrage.
-Yes, you saw it by reading the title : there is a catastrophic lack of marking.
We could speak about cancer players using paid units that are totally brokenly OP or cancer that ruin your gameplay by disturbing you with getting on your sight, destroying your rally points or burning the ground to kill you, their allies, with flamethrowers…but here i would like us to speak about peoples who just DON’T mark/spot anything, another cancer.
It seems that for most of players, pressing “v” is a very hard and complex thing to do, if you play solo and you have not the chance to have players with a certain experience in your time you will quickly notice that you haven’t seen a single time a single player spoting anything of the game. There is games, battles, into wich no one will mark the ennemy’s position a single time.
It will be for a certain time that i noticed that but is it my impression or really my vision that didn’t trick me at all but it looks like more and more players just don’t mark ennemies, even when you ask for, they did just not press “v” a single time.
I conceive and understand that new players are not aware of that but force to see these red pings on the map they should start to think, “wait ? what is this ?”, and search for it, and then starting to use it.
But it seems that no, not at all.
Boring complaining time but i need to share a brief feeling of my experience :
I play since the begging, when the game was finally opened to anyone in 2021 and sure i saw waves of new and old payers but now i have the feeling that we have a certain number of players in game that are not just “noob” because they still have to play for forging an experience, that is totally normal, nothing to say, but sometime i have i have this impression that some players are just dumb.
I played a long time into Moscow, Normandy, and all others campaigns but mostly these two ones ; and for a month and maybe more i started to actively farm for Berlin campaign and my game experience just became radically different ; if before some short time as any other players of the time the decor and disposition, settings, of the maps made that we didn’t see the ennemies for a little time, woods, buildings, or just the time they reach our positions…now on Berlin i have a very recurrent phrase, a sentence that is “I SEE NOTHING”.
Yes men, literally, “I SEE NOTHING” and sometimes for multiple minutes, and even to the last point, having seen and shot to death few ennemies that passed into my sight…
It is NOT all the games, but in Berlin it is very recurrent that i didn’t see any enemy for multiple time and sometime long times ; and all this just because no one just press “v” to mark, ping, spot the ennemies.
Ho yes when all is right, alright, i kill them a lot, but when you see nothing…you see nothing.
And when i check the scores peoples makes kills so they see them coming but they just don’t mark ennemies and no one expect them knows where to go.
It seems that this problem is very important on Berlin campaign due to all things that can hide entire squads, you know…all the building, and other things, etc…Moscow, Normandy, Pacific and others campaign, even Stalingrad that is similar seems to not be impacted by the lack of spot because you will surely see the enemy one time and clearly, but Berlin is pretty different, some maps are obstructed a lot by the decor and buildings, making spoting/marking a very important thing, but some time, in lots of battles, enough to be screamed out and pissing off a veteran of the game (even if i’m not active at all on forums) as me…no one mark a single time.
SO, after this long pavement of words, came the main stuff :
WHY ? can we understand why this situation is so recurrent and if we can do something, and even if you experienced it on other campaigns ?!
I’m sure we just CAN’T say “allies are just bumb” because it just make no sens. Maybe it’s bots so they didn’t spot of course, but judging by the results it seems that most players are real human players…but, again, came the question of why they just don’t do it, and so why they just not press “v” on their keyboard during the battle…
Does the game never invit players to spot so visibly that most of news players are just not aware that they can do this ? Why is it so common on my side, and maybe yours, that no one, or just few players, spot the enemy ?
For Berlin campaign i can point with my fingers some maps but i will not name them all because our experiences are totally subjective and the game-mod have a big influence. but some as the river map, especially the bridge zone is so obstructed that we just can’t see most of ennemies. or some maps leading to or near the reich chancellery have some zones so much filled of stuff and buildings, or barricades, that seeing nothing is really recurrent.
There is a gamemod where axis must defend as first point a little place of the chancellery garden, and the ennemy come from behind a building, apparently a diner room (not sure) but this building is so dark inside that it’s hard to see an ennemy coming, and the point is literally glued to the building’s gates, so, you get it, axis see allies/soviet clearly only when they are on the point.
And as player that played both sides, i see the difference between attacking and defending. May we just can call it an issue of balancing but now for peoples playing axis on this disposition…it’s pretty hard, but anyway, this map is not the subject.
Share you feelings and anything that could hep to understand this weird phenomenon, bad non-habit, and of course you experience if you noticed similar things too. I will not be active so i may not respond to direct answered addressed to me specifically, so my apologize for this. I’m searching for a brainwashing or a kind of common open discussion about that strange situation, i really want to know your feelings about this, what you can say of it. Peace on you guys and may we meet on the battlefield in any side one day.
