The Future of Enlisted: Where are we Headed?

Thats the heart of it I feel. (and the sentiment shared by other Vets I have come to know over the years)

Im telling you, if the devs would have stated “why” they were removing the BP shop, people would understand.

However their silence can only mean two things, either there is no reason to do this and had only a monetization purpose or the devs think they know better than us and believe we ourselves don’t know what we want.

A fair answer, but the main question is what is the long term plan/goal. Warthunder infantry? (Just an example) Is there one?

Things seem to be scaling down, getting slower

Would be great to know indeed.

I’m slowly losing interest in the game myself. Things just feel repetitive and I don’t see many positive changes.

Instead, it seems that a lot of the focus is on maximizing fomo to drive engagement, even if it is objectively a downgrade for players (see: from battlepass to battleass and deletion of gold orders).

But that’s by definition short termism. We can already see that bringing in more content in general doesn’t seem to be a priority, so beyond fomo what is? More zombie shit and whatever?

Would be great to know what the devs long term plan is.

Other than the obvious “get your sh*t together” for updates, Ive seen a lot of people talk about the game leaving ww2 and going more cold war like warthunder.
But I believe they should actually go backwards to ww1! The FPS + Pikmen format would lend itself rather nicely to a ww1 shooter, the large groups of soldiers charging eachother, the mass casualties, big maps, etc. Ive played a few of the ww1 customs and they were always fun and I think it be great to see it more fleshed out by the developers themselves.

Completely and accurately adding maps, uniforms, weapons, and vehicles representing all the nations that fought in the invasion of Poland up to the battle of Okinawa should be Enlisted #1 future. Nothing more nothing less.

I couldn’t care less about Korea nor Vietnam, I want to play these campaigns first long before any post war bs contents:

  1. Invasion of Poland

  2. Russo-Japanese border conflicts

  3. Creta/Malta campaign

  4. Invasion of Italy

  5. Southeast Asian early war and late war island hopping campaign

  6. Sino-Japanese war

  7. Market Garden

  8. And many more epic battles of world war two

would be nice to know if that is their intention though wouldnt it?

I would sure hope so. Considering how people here keep asking (or at least discussing) for more and more post war contents DF need to finish their shit first before moving on to a new war.

How is that? Before the merge, we more or less had a year of nothing.

Then came merge and a year of just fixing everything bad about it that merge brought.

I really don’t see why developers would make any different goal. The game is definitely not in such a polished state that they can afford something like that.
And they should still focus on QoL stuff and overall polishing.

It’s not like they can afford to do something else anyway, lol.

It’s like saying that wow is just mmo Warcraft. Like yes, but so what? Like it’s something bad, lol

That’s literally what many people always wanted. It’s pretty deliberate from you to just downplay it like that. :man_shrugging:

We knew what they were doing though…they were doing the merge so that enlsited could survive. that was “the plan/goal”

as for the scaling down look at the time between “making Enlisted a better place” posts in the last 6 months compared to the previous 6 months. Modders digest, custom games support, Even the battlepass is effectively scaling down. (even if it is more frequent absent delays)

different goal from what…what is the goal post merge…the very question Im asking

yes I agree, but are they?. (you youself are still waiting for apc camo customisation that was a PREMIUM product)

I would love it if the Goal was to prioritise finishing everything thats already added but unfinished, but that hasnt really been said or actioned.

No idea what you are saying or getting at here. :man_shrugging: Im asking questions using Warthunder infantry as an “example” of what the answer “might” be, what you said is making a statement as if it was confirmed.

Yeah. So all we got was not fully implemented class that’s not in TT to this very day, ±2 maps and then some progression content few weeks before the merge.

That’s literally all we got for the sake of some bigger plan/goal. And I definitely do not want to experience something like that again.

The last thing that enlisted currently need is something like another big goal.

On the contrary. The game still needs to focus on the smaller details that have been bothering players for years. Like better balance, proper customization, lobby chat, ingame PMs, ability to choose game modes and so, desertion punishments.

Many of that was already teased or confirmed. So it’s not like enlisted is without a plan. That’s only the way you are presenting it.

The game is simply not in a state where it can prioritize some of the bigger goal over the smaller ones that it has neglected for years. Just like it did with merge back then.

But if I were to suggest some other larger goal myself. It would be to abandon the support of the older generations. And along with that, implementing the various improvements that go along with it. Such as better rendering distance, better AI, overall engine upgrade in similar manner to WT, etc.

But should something like that be a priority at this point? Absolutely not. I just don’t want to spend the next years neglecting things that players are constantly complaining about. Just because some higher priority goal comes up again. And that’s what it all comes down to. Se, ve been through this before and it definitely was it healthy for the game.

And what do you think Enlisted is? Do you think it’s a coincidence that Gaijin decided to invest on a game that uses the WT engine, the WT assets, and the only thing that differentiates it from WT is the FPS aspect.

I honestly really have no idea what else Enlisted should be.
Especially since a certain segment of the warthunder community has wanted something like this for I don’t know how long.

Are we just going to pretend now that Enlisted isn’t such a game? Just because some people see the game as something else and use “WT but with infatry” as more of an insult than anything else?

I, on the other hand, think it’s a very good concept and the game doesn’t need anything more to be good. It’s just the implementation that matters.

Then again we are getting big updates primarily intended for QoL instead.
Why they changed the format from putting the games changes up gradually every few weeks I really don’t know. Maybe it is preventing bugs. Because that was one of the things I really complained about back then, too. And I feel like that’s gotten better lately.

I don’t think they’re focusing on QoL any less. More like the exact opposite.

Im not sure why you are challenging a “communication request”, maybe your bored, maybe something is lost in translation, or maybe i chose my words poorly.

If you dont care about communicating the plan, it makes no difference to you if they do or dont. So no need to challenge it

It saves me alot of trouble to take 2 mins to explain/remind my wife of the 2 year plan. Why we are not going on big holidays, travelling or buying extravegant things now when we have the means. Because its to build our dream home.

When the plan is known/reminded, it saves the frustration and arguing (maybe not all :stuck_out_tongue:)

The plan is known. That’s why they’re doing roadmaps. Once the current roadmap (plan) is finished, they’ll most likely introduce a new roadmap.

The current roadmap was introduced in July or so. Still not a full year has passed since then. So I have no clue why are people demanding a new one. Especially since all things that are on current roadmap haven’t been all implemented/done yet.

My understanding was that you necessarily need some higher goal or whatever. And that’s what I was opposing.
Otherwise I think current plan(s) is/are still quiet clear.

No…to communicate if they have one or not

For DF, small goals are long term goals. Like adding a single tank or implementing customization for APC.

Somehow I doubt they have the ambition and discipline to even follow more longer term plans. So I really don’t understand why to tell players something vague that is more likely to not reflect reality anyway. Chances are it would just backfired more than anything else.

As if you didn’t know DF.

That’s why:

I just want a good WW2 game, not AS-44 vs JapTiger

And if we go for another time period, I vote for WW1

You’ll be pleased to know that the devs, or even the CMs are unlikely to make posts regarding future prospects for fear that they’ll be held accountable for previous statements.

Enlisted is a low priority for DF/Gaijin, as far as what can be observed.

But they’re practicing the legal maxim of “Less Talk, Less Mistake”.

Even Major couldn’t come up with a positive response when he jokingly made the claim that this season’s battlepass was “only delayed for a day” during the 2nd time it was delayed. We are now at the 4th time this season’s battlepass was delayed.

If they’re willing to prove people wrong, they’d be engaging the community more often.

But, as what one can observe with this thread, they are very unlikely to respond to this thread, let alone glance at it.

Well that answers one of the question’s (if not all). Skeleton crew.

Thanks.

well kinda expected. game is not generating enough income to justify having large team constantly updating game. that is why they probably assigned loads of devs to new project and why updates are rather slow with low content.

suspected and expected. Was just more courteous to ask directly first.
