Yep hence why adding a stock to the 1919 doesnt just make it as good as an MG34. It was a stop gap
Maybe shield as sidegrade? Although I don’t have idea how to make sidegrades for buildings.
MG34 is almost 30 lbs without a spare barrel, which you would need an A-gunner to carry.
the shield just seems like a waste of time to me
26 pounds. modern M240 weights 27. I cant find the weight of the 1919A6 but the standard minus stock and bipod was 31 plus a required tripod. I know that sounds small but being able to carry 7 pounds more of ammo is alot
Personally I can’t imagine it without shield.
Maybe some more utility asould be added as protection vs pistol rounds isn’t too good.
240b’s are heavy as hell and I wouldn’t begin to consider using one as an LMG. Supposedly 240Ls are more usable but I’ve never used one, while I have used a 240b to a degree.
I have and yes the 240Ls are much more balanced as well. 22 I believe. That titanium receiver and shorter barrel make a massive difference. 240Bs are still carried the same MGs have been since WW2 and it hasnt gotten easier

no it was because you made the claim that no GPMG can compete with the MG34 so gimmicks like the shield should be added.
So long as the Russian MG isn’t like the coaxial tank MG where it for some reason needs 3 hits to down someone with a .30 cal.

Imo it’s either going to be useless or OP to a broken degree depending on what caliber it stops.
Actually it is useful against rifles from 100m distance but I didn’t write that before because I knew German mains will destroy me in the comments if I did
