MG Squad/ Assaulter Squad should be built in a similar way. Meaning two riflemen are irreplaceable.
The Flamer Squad feels way more balanced and makes the Specialists more meaningfull and puts the player in a position to think more on how the get used.
Pluss it reduces Full auto spam, wich is allways needed to make the game more comadating for newbies.
Rifleman FG-42 delenda est.
That’s the thing with the flamers tough. They can’t be balanced. Either they are useless (release) or single handedly burn the entire enemy team on the point without tought (current version).
I don’t know for sure that the flamethrowers are “balanced,” especially in a game like Enlisted, but I do agree with you that the flamer squads are meaningful. They are my preferred close assault squads. It’s the most “synergistic,” if people still use that word, of the squad combinations.
My usual mix is 1 to 2 flamers, plus engineer, plus at least 1 rifleman and then an assaulter. I add an AT gunner to the mix, but that’s for versatility.
Rifle grenades at medium to close range to deter the curious and prep the area; at least 1 or 2 rifleman with these, maybe 1 with a grenade pouch to create an entry space before the flamer goes in.
Flamer to conduct the assault and host the BBQ.
Assaulter to push forward and secure the position after it’s clear. Assuming he survives, of course.
1 Flamer as a reserve for those pesky counter attacks and, in lieu of second assaulter, an AT guy to tackle armor as well.
Right now, though, the way flamethrowers behave in this game is an issue. They have an all-too-common ability to burn people thru solid objects, which should not be possible except in a few select cases (Pacific thatched huts and wooden structures).
The entire thing gets side trackes i am talking of the squad composition not the weapons the guys are using.
Flamer is OP ok doesnt change the fact that this squad is not Overloaded with specialist weapon.
7 man squad 5 specialists two riflemen i think thats a good way to go.
