The first trial of the T-34

BT series were used in the beginning of the war so they mostly featured early-war decals (if any), or just numbers:

When will the German army’s Jagdtiger and Jagdpanther be available?

ngl finally having almost proper looking tanks with decals in the game’s 5th year is overdue but welcome

Now just make the system proper and automated:

Let me quote a suggestion from JUNE 2022

and here’s one from November 2024

I don’t want mandatory customization for vehicles. Does the vehicle customization system need to be overhauled? Absolutely. Should I be forced to use a camo or have decals that I cant move/remove? No. Vehicles should show the individuality of the player controlling it, even if that means players foregoing historical accuracy by plastering big decals on their vehicles. That is their choice.

There are better ways to address the problem. The issue stems from a couple things. One being the cost is too high. Cost should either; Be removed entirely, be heavily reduced, be a one time purchase (exceptions being bushes), or a combination of all three. Events rewarding decals/decorators should persist, but the lack of decals we have currently is embarrassing and needs to be expanded upon. There have been several comprehensive and excellent suggestions already about decals to add and DF would have to be blind not to have seen them, and seen the positivity that those posts generate.

The other core issue with are current system is the lack of creative freedom. Instead of restricting where emblems can or cant be placed, there should be even less restrictions than we have currently. I want sliders for everything from angle and size, to how faded or pronounced decals and camos appear. There also is so little that can be done with only 4 decal slots, 2 for free players. Those should be doubled to 8 and 4 respectively.

These changes, or something similar, would allow for players to finally be able to make their tanks and planes look how they want them too. As for unsightly decal spam for those that don’t like that, just add a setting to disable player vehicle customizations, or an option to disable a specific players customizations.

Here are some of my vehicles to show that despite the terrible system we currently have. It still can be used in moderate success. (And because I want to show them).

Soviet

US/Commonwealth

this is interesting? how did you do that?

Is that an Interaction with a bought Camo and a BP camo? (looking at the BP camo on the turret not matching the body)

Warthunders customisation of vehicles, while not perfect is much better than Enlisted.

Im sort of waiting for it to crossover before I bother too much.

I like what you have done.

Waiting for Warthunder Custimisation to have more options and look cool.

Absolutely! …unless its like a bright pink anime skin (double standards)

Putting tank decals on planes is way too much of individuality for my taste, heh…

No, for some reason the GO Pz.IV H doesn’t have matching skirts.

Aaaabsolutely not.

Unless there is a big fat DO NOT DISPLAY CUSTOMIZATION option.

But even then, I still believe customization within historical references or NO customization.

I like my tanks looking as historical as possible, but what I want and others want can be completely different. Players shouldn’t be forced to customize a particular way just like how players now aren’t forced to play a certain way.

If you want to appreciate a game that does vehicle accuracy justice look at a game like Gates of Hell: Ostfront.

You could say it is historical.

Crews named their own planes/tanks and added their own markings. If you want to see one of the more ridiculous examples look up “the red barons flying circus” (dont focus on ww1, not the point)

“I am the crew” in enlisted, ill mark and name my own vehicle.

(I would however prefer period appropriate art…modern anime not a thing)

Well yes, if there is some historical reference, let’s have it ingame.

However, Gneisenau decal from Cold War era Leopard

Or Ulan Ude bear from early 2000s Russian Air Force

Or stuff like this

Has nothing to do with WW2

I admit I dont like this one, and will never use it myself…But i could see someone painting that on an American Bomber…it wouldnt be a stretch. (just look up WW 2 American bomber nose ART )

I mean the style looks period appropriate and there was a WW 2 Battlecruiser bearing the name. (the 304 emblem isnt a part of it)…not the biggest deal in my book

Cant really defend this one (as I dont know anything about it). atleast its not absurd looking

War thunder always get so many quality decals.

Here’s one they got for women’s day:
march_8_23_decal_e5e62ef8f7e3356253ceaff180f4126a

It’s tasteful I’m not sure it could be called a pin-up… but it’s high quality.

Warthunder has so many Default options available before you even get into Event decals, achievement decals and paid decals…

Why oh Why doesnt Enlisted just port over the same “Base game decals”

I always wondered, why when WT releases a new decal, it isn’t also released for Enlisted…

I need more pinups on my planes (and hopefully tanks). Because sophisticated.
