I’m not personally forcing it on you I’m just trying to say that if you write that word and an English speaking person sees it that’s from the part of the world that uses that as a racial slur they’re going to think of you as a racist and that includes hundreds of millions of people around the world so why not just write out the word Japanese and avoid all of the Drama
you are living in a community that is forcing people to refer people how they wish to be referred and if they dont it is considered a violence…

Of course they care they’re just too polite to say anything about it, I’ll have to admit this is a very interesting watching the reactions to this because I never really said anybody was a racist I just said that they could be viewed as such by part of the community for using those terms but everybody got extremely defensive

Exactly, and a large percentage of the people that come here are native English speakers, and in the native English speaking world that word is a racial slur, so since they with you that use as indicating that you were racist when do you want to know that those people thought that you would be racist I’m not just referring to myself because my assumption is you’re not you just don’t understand that that word is racist

tbh i didnt even know that jap was a racist word before i started playing WoWs… so most people dont know that. and considering knowledge of average american, i doubt they know it too.

Fun fact: in my language we literally have the word “negru” which means black, as in the color black.
Imagine some fun conversations i had where some black ppl thought i was using slurs because they overheard me in some conversation in my native language
