The discrepancy in semi-auto pistol caliber rifles

In update making enlisted a better place.24 They changed the rules of most semi-auto pistol caliber rifles so they could be equipped by most soldier classes instead of just assaulters. This was a good change, it just didn’t go far enough. There are still some weapons that defy the new rules.

The vg.1-5 and m1 carbine are still locked to their respective classes, instead of being available to most like their contemporaries. I think fixing this issue will help to bring further utility and use of these weapons, and bring more consistent rules to whom can carry what across all campaigns.

M1 Carbine can be used by anyone

Anyone, except assaulters. The m1 carbine has stats comparable to the grease gun, and some people might prefer it’s superior bullet velocity and accuracy to the .45

m1 carbine is semi auto and assaulters can only get smg and automatic rifles. if you want to take m1 or m2 carbine you have 3 rifleman squads you can equip and they are superior in number to assaulter squads…

also i wouldnt call 7.62 mm pistol caliber rifle…

The vg.1-5 is already an assaulter weapon, as well as all the gold order pistol caliber carbines. There is already a precedent for pistol or intermediate cartridge weapons used by assaulters, the m1 and m2 carbine are the only weapons that don’t follow this rule.

The m2 should be exclusive to the assaulters, the m1 and vg.1-5 should be available to everyone except machine gunners and snipers.

Use a riflman instead of the assaulter, profit

Is there a reason assaulters shouldn’t have the option?

Because after wy dont let the other soldier use smg? What is the point have soldier class if we remove weapon restrictions

Mist important question wy Assaulter wo use automatic gun need equip semi-auto? If you can simply change them with a rifleman

As I’ve already pointed out: assaulters can already use gold order semi-auto carbines in every campaign, and the vg.1-5 in Berlin.

There is a precident set in the game that every single semi-auto weapon with intermediate and pistol caliber is usable by assaulter class with the exception of the m1 and m2 carbine.

Looking at the allied Normandy campaign; there is a large gap in levels between the grease gun and the next good smgs. It’s also available before the Thompson in Tunisia and the Pacific.

The m1 carbine fits nicely in that space as an option for a weapon with better damage, accuracy and range than most available smgs; while retaining mobility and rate of fire needed for an assaulter
