I noticed that some aviation bombs in this game are “forged”. I want to know the difference between them and ordinary aviation bombs?
I was asking the same thing,
Im only guessing here but i guess its a shrapnel thing
The only functional difference I can find between forged and welded bombs are that forged bombs can penetrate a bit deeper into soft material like dirt and buildings before detonating. Whereas welded bombs detonated mostly detonated on contact as the welds weren’t as strong as homogeneous forgings to hold up to hitting the ground at speed. I can’t really find any information about explosive power difference or filler.
That’s right. There is a difference in the penetration. If you just blow it up on the ground, there’s no real difference. All nations used forged bombs. This is not a Soviet feature. I don’t know if they are measured separately. It must look cooler or something.
I thought forged meant terribly made
