Well lately I’ve been noticing the AI route taking is awful literally today my AI got stuck in a normal room I think this is due to a new campaign implementation maybe that’s it but the devs still They have not bothered to correct it or even inform us that at least they have already realized this detail, but anyway, the taking of routes by the AI is not the only inconvenience or lack that it has, but I have not simply come to criticize but I am going to propose one or another improvement that has just occurred to me:
1_ Improve the accuracy of the AI, nah just kidding. Improving the use of “defend this point” I don’t know what’s up with AI that never get to where you need them to be, they always go round and round until they’re killed.
2_Add an option or add a command to “check magazines or reload your weapons” I don’t know how many times it’s happened to me that I change my next soldier and the funny guy only has one bullet in the magazine.
3_Use of ammunition boxes and medical boxes Sometimes after the combat my soldiers run out of ammunition and I need to replenish it, but it is tedious to have to go one by one to replenish their ammunition, instead it is better to make a request that is “squad use the ammunition box” the same would apply with medical boxes, for wounded soldiers, it would save a lot of work.
4_Engineering team cooperation, usually when I’m building something, I ask an engineer from my team to come give me a hand, but the guy is going to walk around first before coming to help me, how efficient God, they should improve this , also a nice addition would be to give them orders of what objects to build and point them where they want it to be built, it would be a great help.
That would be a nice improvement for the AI, maybe programming an AI isn’t easy, but please, you should at least keep us updated on your progress.
the one bullet is really annoying, mostly when you change so you can charge in shooting with that 75 round mg 34 only to dicover it has only a single bullet in it
My opinion is that once a year with OBT, darkflow failed to dramatically improve the AI - so there is not much room for improvement in the engine. Therefore, crutches and patches to the current system.
Just look what updates are waiting for us - is it bad? I’ve been playing for a year now and have always viewed my bots as cannon fodder, designed to tank my attack with their body.
It’s normal that all bots die before arriving at the point, because this is their main task - to be secondary actors. And the player is soloing here. And they won’t fix errors in Pathfinding, you can even not have too much hope, and this is due to the peculiarity of their mapping.
I would not mind my bots using ALL of their ammo if they could get some real kills under their belt?
That is something that should be fixed if anything with the AI, make them more aggressive and combat ready.
First of all, they already work like neon lights revealing your position very well at least they can be useful and shoot back at the enemy on sight.
I have had this issue with me building a spawn point and like 3 of my bots (Headless chickens) standing there like idiots and someone from the opposing team just walks up to me while I am on my knees with a hammer and blasts me from close range?
I mean… I rather take a bot with all of his ammo consumed if he has killed 3-8 people on the battlefield (This is why there are pistols in the game as a backup) Than drag these useless beings after my behind?
I have noticed that it is actually easier to hide, go around the enemy and play the game itself with smaller squad sizes. They are pretty useless I am afraid.
More aggressive bots who actually get the fight done, would be a savior for the game. It would also reduce the feeling of “Oh, this is a bot game” if there are not too many humans online playing?
I do not know what kind of a bunch of pacifists I am stuck with my bots but it sure seems like all of them got conscripted from the same Bob Marley concert.
