The current Leaver Penalty System needs to be improved

The current penalty for leaving a game is a -20% XP reduction for the next two matches, even if you only leave once. However, this system is inefficient because it doesn’t account for unavoidable situations, like a sudden internet disconnection. It creates a frustrating experience for players and is not an effective way to deter intentional leavers.

Losing connection due to internet issues is something players cannot control, and often, there isn’t even an opportunity to reconnect. Applying an immediate penalty in these situations is extremely unreasonable.

Therefore, I suggest improving the system to one that applies escalating penalties based on the cumulative number of times a player leaves a game.

Example:

  • 1st Leave: No penalty (to account for unexpected issues).
  • 2nd Leave: -5% XP reduction for 1 match.
  • 3rd Leave: -10% XP reduction for 2 matches.
  • 4th Leave: -20% XP reduction for 2 matches.
  • 5th+ Leave: -30% XP reduction for 2 matches.

The core of this system is to distinguish between a user who disconnects ‘once by accident’ and a user who ‘repeatedly’ leaves games. This approach would reduce frustration for players who have to leave due to unavoidable circumstances while applying more effective sanctions against those who intentionally ruin the game for others.

A far better system, instead of like my recent post, getting the dumbass stuck in tne heaven glitch but cant leave because of desertion penalty

I dont blame people for leaving a match in which they would only get farmed by a clan or deathstack, but common people, this is not okay:

they were probably br1 from the looks of it. I feel like console players in pc matches shouldn’t get the penalty since they’re at a disadvantage but then again they can always turn off cross platform play if its that bad or make it where they need to turn it on first instead of it being on when they start playing

not like you lost much… bots are probably better than those they replaced…

1st Leave : 20% Penalty (to account for unexpected issues, you still ruined a match)
2nd Leave: 60% Penalty (Triple the desertion Penalty
3rd Leave: 200% penalty (You leech money to Gaijin)
4th Leave : Locked from playing for 36 hours (To account for unexpected issues)
5th Leave : Account deleted (Game is now saved)

That’s like the same idea as suffering a heart attack on your way to work and having to go to hospital and your boss still fires you because “you let the team down”.

As we’ve all mentioned before, the server should be able to detect disconnections from poor internet, and not penalise players for that. It’s not their fault their internet supplier can’t get top rate connections.

Who am I kidding? Gaijin doesn’t care about their customers or employees (they would probably fire their own employees in the situation mentioned above).

it is impossible to detect disconnection due to poor internet. you have couple of ways how you can do it yourself from restarting router, disconnecting your computer from internet or setting firewall to block all connections.

If someone goes out to restart the router to avoid leaver penalty id say he already went thru more trouble than the useless team which was the reason to leave in first place.

Anyway, since I consider entire penalty as a joke, id say the probability to exploit this “system” is lesser evil than penalizing those who actually needs the exp and got penalty due to poor connection.

depends where your router is at… i have mine on table, so i can restart it or just plug out network cable in seconds. if someone is on wireless, they can just disconnect with 2 clicks.

is someone deserts a lot, they can also have network connections opened where they can just disable network. it just needs 2 clicks.

penalty is laughably bad. honestly i am surprised about that many topics that arose from this. if someone has occasionally bad network connection and they get disconnected once a month(or longer) then they can simply play few matches with 20% malus. if they have really bad connection and it disconnects multiple times per week or per month, then maybe multiplayer games are not for them.

It is a joke, a really bad joke.
It does absolutely nothing to prevent old players from deserting ppl with all unlocked hardly gives a fk about exp that they dont need.

Only affects newplayers this game really could use.

And generally, applying penalty to game that does absolute minimum to provide fair and balanced game is a horrible joke.

almost got me and only cause i was mad at a idiot who grinds through br1 to get one piece of br2 gear equip it to one squad fully then is mad because they have to fight br3 and wants noob protection expanded to br2

If this was possible, any singular game on the planet would have done it. Its not possible. Lol
