The COD creep

Hey there.

I wanted to say, that despite still enjoying the game, the way it has been developing has some issues in my opinion. It has always been an arcade-y FPS, but the gameplay is deteriorating in some ways, old problems reemerging.
Rather than having a frontline, most fights turn into a chaotic mess with people spawning all over the map - Discouraging tactical gameplay (e.g. actually trying to win), while encouraging mad run&gun parkour rampages & excessive grayzone camping. Having entry routes covered is pointless when the enemy doesn’t need them & might already be next to you.

The best strategy is currently to firefight as much as possible, as often as possible, besides spawning paras for easy rally.

I suggest dialing back the power creep by removing rally points from paras, returning utility to spending time sneaking around/finding good positions to cover entry/reinforcement routes, and making it more challenging to set up a spawn behind enemy lines. Bring back the front.

well you spell problem right, but all is needed to solve it is to slightly reduce speeds and increase spaces for fighting. best example here is Stalingrad.

exactly what I’ve been thinking, this game looks too good and have too nice features to be played like this. It’s one of my few major issues with enlisted, I don’t mind being flanked or whatever but being killed by the single guy running on the cap like crazy is no fun for me. It’s just pure chaos not in a good way, i wish it was a little bit more of a positioning gameplay, so that all of the games features could match its gameplay.

shifting minimum range you can build rallies to the objective would be effective. (From 50 to 100 for starters)

They did experiment witht that.
But maps are so small that rally limit areas overlaped either between points or between the point and the spawn.

But imo gameplay was improved.

I spose they could push eveything back though. Its not like the maps arent way bigger than gray zone forces

Bigger playabe area was already requested in CBT (as you probably know).
Results are visible. Nothing has changed.

I put all my hopes in mods.
But sadly we have less than no info about teased improvements to custom lobbies.

Keep in mind that any slowdown in the game pace will necessarily have as a side effect the overall reduction of the global average actions/score per minute, which means a proportional reduction in XP and currency income.

That the Devs may or may not decide to compensate by increasing the overall earnings, but even if they do, it will take months.

concept substitution. slowning down capturing and decreasing number of reinforcements lost for each died squad will not make less actions. moreover it makes people build and do anything else than just respawns and rushing b. it will only give chance to make kills with anything else than just assault rifles/most OP smgs like kiraly or fedorov.

Right now I’m not conceptually opposing the change of pace, just pointing out that given the f2p nature of the game, any change in the gameplay is bound to affect the economy, and vice versa.

As far as I’m concerned, I could live with a less frenetic pace, as long as NO kind of personal penalty for being killed is involved. On that point I’m firm.

Need to be careful with this.

Currently fast capturing after another cap is often the only way to flip a losing attacker match, which gets neglected in a lot of discussions around game modes and balance.

Mainly because the rallies are so close its easy to get back to block caps. Its all linked

I 100% agree.

STRATEGIC gameplay needs to make a comeback, and run-and-gun gameplay needs to STOP BEING CATERED TO.
