The AVT-40 is incomparably better than the MkB in Stalingrad

Thr guy advocating for avt is a bot farmer

technically, Enlisted as a game has one big fault in weapon balance, and that is select fire weapons will never be used on semi auto, because they either are laughably inaccurate, or deal too little damage per shot to justify single shot damage.

This very problem is perfectly shown in the MkB if you compare it to the AVT or even the FGs.

while the FGs can kill in one or two shots, people still use them mostly full auto, because 5 shot bursts will kill any target, while 2 shots single fire has still a high chance to miss both shots because of insane deviation.

This same logic applies to all high rifle damage select fire weapons in this game.
-Which again because of bad accuracy makes you want to increase hit chance with more shots fired.

Now for those who can remember, select fire weapons used to be much more accurate, the sniper FG42 in Normandy for example had the same damage and accuracy as the G43 Sniper rifle, which made it a one shot kill gun with a quick reload 20 rounds mag - this was more powerful than a grey zone camping Tank on a Dday map. So this obviously got rightfully nerfed, yet I would argue the nerf was too much, because now you dont really use these weapons anymore.

And one last thing which also should be considered here, the MkB42H was firing from an open bolt, which means if you pull the trigger, the bolt will need to be released first and travel to firing position first before the actual shot happens - which is why old SMGs like PPSH and Sten guns are considered inaccurate at medium ranges, its just very hard to land your shots when you pull the trigger and your shot happens some milliseconds later.
This was later fixed by giving the STGs and FGs a closed bolt system once you switched to semi automatic mode.

So one could argue that the MkB was indeed not as accurate as one would imagine.

Restore the accuracy of mkb42, reduce the dispersion of bullets, and enable it to recover its advantage in medium distance.

It should be more accurate than a Soviet SF though

I woudnt be to sure about that, I mean in full auto mode for sure, because of much easier to controll recoil but in semi auto … I would argue that the AVT40 should be as accurate as the SVT variants, because they fire from a closed bolt

also maybe to clarify, an open bolt system doesn’t actually make a weapon inaccurate, same as having a bad trigger on your rifle, it however makes it much harder to control the weapon in a matter that would be accurate.

the real mechanical accuracy of a weapon are determined by the barrel, ammunition and the locking system of a weapon. So to speak, the MkB was more accurate than the shooter could control it.

Thing is the Mkb is ofc not deadly accurate but it wasnt as inaccurate as the PPSh (auto) and if the AVT already struggles to be on par with the PPSh there, it doesnt make sense to make it more accurate, at least auto-wise.

interesting, I knew those weapons were unreliable, but the accuracy problems are interesting, must have been due to the bad lock up system.
