The artificial nerf of Mp38 does not make sense anymore

Hello Bajtársak and fellow forumdwellers!

Short historical background:
The Mp38 was designed for mobile warfare of the Blitzkrieg doctrine by Heirich Wollmer.
During the war it was found too time consuming to produce so it was simplified into the Mp40 by using stamped steel. The gun mechanism itself did not degrade and both guns had similar performance.

In game the Mp38 was artificially nerfed to be worse than Mp40 so players would use the Mp40 which was unlocked later and was more expensive pre-merge.

Now both guns are on BR2 and there is no reason anymore to have the mechanically same guns perform differently.

I propose that the Mp38 and Mp40 get the same damage, same dispersion and the same recoil (or at least very similar). Mp38´s rate of fire gets increased to its historically accurate 500 from 490 rpm. Mp38 foldered into Mp40, the more mass produced variant.
Mp40´s rate of fire is increased from 500 to 550 which is still historically accurate but can better match the capabilities and DPS of comparable SMGs (Type 2a, Pps-42, Lanchester).

The main difference would be the rate of fire of the guns, Mp38 would stay the classic 500 rpm while Mp40 would have the more usual videogame 550 rpm.

This would increase the stock Mp40´s DPS at 10m from 48 DPS to 53 DPS, at 50m from 36 DPS to 40 DPS.

comparison:
stock Pps-42 DPS at 10m: 56 DPS, at 50m: 40 DPS
stock Lanchester DPS at 10m: 57 DPS, at 50m: 43 DPS
stock Type 2a DPS at 10m: 56 DPS, at 50m: 43 DPS

Thank you for your time and attention!

Imo it would be nice is MP38 had slightly less rof but slightly better dispersion.
Nothing game changing (probably barely noticable) but it would “represent” more tightly fit and milled proto version. Just as a gun curiosity.

I dont think the barrel was changed though, but it does sound interesting.

The PPD-34 and 34/38 should also get the same damage values as the PPD-40 as it also makes no sense for them to have lower damage post merge.

uhh, sure go make a suggestion on it.

add the ability to change ammunition types to armor-piercing incendiary

I think he means that prototype MP38s would probably be somewhat higher quality than mass produced MP40s, especially those produced later on, so a bit more accurate
