Would there be a way to implement a system where more than one player can control soldiers of the same group?
My reasoning for this is mainly the possibility of multi crewed tanks. If your buddy loses a crew member you can jump in their tank and take their place, but that is so far the only way to have multi crewed tanks.
My suggestion is to add a feature where all players who are squadded up in the menu have the option to be a part of the squad leaders soldier groups, so that when the squad leader chooses his group to spawn in, players who are a member of the squad spawn in controlling the squad leaders soldiers as well.
If the squad leader dies and there are no more soldiers left to control but there are still soldiers being controlled by other players in the squad, the squad leader should be able to spawn in another group. After the members of the initial group die off they will be able to take control of the squad leader’s soldiers in his freshly spawned group.
XP wise, those who aren’t controlling groups of soldiers who belong to them, gain no soldier proficiency. They will, however, still be able to complete daily challenges and battle tasks to earn currency for logistics.
This way if the squad leader spawns in a tank, they will be able to operate the tank with their friends all controlling different parts. To avoid unpreferred seating in the tank, before spawning, members of the squad should have the option to select the seat which they prefer.
Side note: Also consider adding tank bow gunners as a seat option operated by AI when not being controlled by the player.
