When encountering an enemy with said perk you have a destinct disadvantage in killing the guy with the butt of your rifle.
35% is an advantage in every way it especially effs over newer players. Low rak SMGs have a disadvantag against this perk as do rifle butts as do semi auto rifles as does everything.
35% delenda est.
It will greatly improve the new player experience.
With bolties being realistically deadly, all the +35% health does now is make ppl resist smg bullets spread in prayer at long range. Resisting smg meta is a good thing, so I don’t see a necessity to remove that perk, it just doesn’t do much.
As for knocking ppl with stock… be smart and do like everyone else: use a bayonet, a knife/hatchet, or merely pull the trigger!
I started new about a month and a half ago, and I must say, I can see where this may get annoying, HOWEVER:
The vitality perk requires a maxed out soldier, and often times you have to reroll for the perk, so it can be quite difficult to obtain. In addition, it takes either all or the majority of heart points. This means other than stamina related perks, you don’t get many options.
On the attacking side however, bolt actions (that all new players start with) will one tap to torso or head. If you find yourself in a close quarters situation, you still have options. Bayonets are still very common early on, and quite effective. Also, the melee increase perk is available pretty much right away. This helps both speed and damage of melee. Lastly, you can quickly swap to your knife, and there is a perk to make it even faster (I highly recommend it for lots of reasons). You can even get an axe to replace the knife to compensate for not having the melee damage perk if you want.
There are plenty of ways to counter it, and it takes a lot to get it it. It’s fine as is.
Its not that hard to get when you play the game long enough, basicly all your soldiers can get it.
I could have equipped basicly every of my Soldiers with it by this point. I just refuse to use it, because its absurd.
The amount of times against SMG wielders, where this perk would had given me the splitsecond so that he dies and not me when we both come around a corner is absurd.
Its just a powercreep perk, nothing more. Soaking damage in a low time to kill surrounding is too much of an advantage. Every other vitality Perk pales in comparison, especially now that the flask makes Stamina perks mostly pointless.
low level SMGs and unupgraded Semi autos are the guns that suffer the most.
But people pick it and than say there is no problem, of course people dont see a problem when they are the sponge.
Can you still win of course, but what i find amazing is that people dont seem to understand when you are abel to take nearly 50% more damamge its too much of an advantage, because the vitality points themselves also ad health, is beyond me.
Then they soak the bullets and call it skill. Id not be surprised that 35% Health on all your soldiers might add 5% Win rate, Just because you stand after certain grenades, can take a hit and retailiate at distances where the one without gets downed and so on. This shit adds up.
