That's not why I supported the game by buying access to CBT

I played the closed beta. And I liked the changes.
And I liked the direction the game was taking.

The game was the perfect balance between arcade shooters and simulation games.

  • No need to look for an enemy for 20 minutes.

  • It’s threshing right now.

  • Bots add immersion to the massiveness of World War II battles.

  • High-caliber armor-piercing shells pierced brick walls, whole houses made of wood or trees.

  • The gun jammed. World War II weapons were very, very flawed. The myth of powerful German weapons was created by the victors of the war themselves. Because it was stupid to make war films about conquering Normandy, where the allies did not fight most often with tigers and panthers, but with captured French tanks. The Panther was the worst tank of World War II, the most defective, and the Germans produced only 1,355 Tigers and the Americans 49,000 Shermans.

  • Bring back the old damage model. Although for us CBT because this brutality also added immersion.

  • There was friendly fire in the game from grenades thrown and fired from mortars or barrel grenade launchers.

  • Allied artillery and bombs from friendly aircraft dealt damage to their own.

  • Battles were slower and people either made the mistake of running into the room where a friend had thrown a grenade. People were waiting for the artillery on the point to pass (I remember the games the artillery was spamming the entire battle all over the map, that was fun and immersive too).

  • People played more tactically. AI teams were more effective.

  • Fights took place more often at a distance of 70-150 m than today.

  • It didn’t matter if it was a conquest or an invasion, everyone could deploy only 10 units, which also made people play more tactically.

  • Ammunition did more damage. Even the pistol did damage like a submachine gun. One hit from a pistol or submachine gun does not kill, but incapacitates a soldier.

  • And you would burst into a building with a submachine gun and do 11 frags and a reload jam.

  • There was no such sick normalization. Rifles of different countries differ in caliber and case length (powder charge used). There was no such sick normalization. Rifles of different countries differ from each other in caliber and case length (powder charge used) and this is how the damage should look like. Because now it’s the same weapon, just a different skin and magazine capacity.

  • There was no flashing gray area. And there was no case of players who aim only to run around the enemy spawn and kill him when he is defenseless. the defender should immediately be forced to retreat to the next position (this would also override the current precedent of the defenders still on the first point and the attackers already on the third).

  • Airplane engines broke down when we flew at 110% power for too long.

  • The tank engine could break down while driving.

  • There were already airborne units in the game before and they were not dropped from planes. Well, we have it, but why transport planes do not have a badge and appear immediately over the battlefield (they should fly over the battlefield longer).

  • There was no balance in the game, more like rock paper scissors. germans have strong tanks and americans have planes to destroy them. And field cannons were used more often because any unit that had an engineer could put them up.

What else would I want in the game after what I would like to see back?

  • For frag ammo to stun and damage vehicle crews.
  • Non-piercing hits should damage and stun the crew (75mm round from the Italian SPG, even if it doesn’t penetrate the sherman, should still tear off the pieces of armor inside).
  • Destroying buildings, or if that may be too controversial, at least tearing roofs off buildings and collapsing floors leaving walls behind.
  • Machine gun pinning. There should be a mechanic that would cause a soldier to automatically lie down or crouch under barrage fire and cannot take a standing position as long as the barrage continues.
  • The morale bar, which would depend on it, would help in controlling the behavior when pinning or death of companions.
  • Shaking hands, which would make it difficult to reload, aim, etc.
  • Incapacitated by being knocked back by an explosion. So, such an immersive, a bit cinematic procedure, but the explosion of a friendly tank or an enemy bomb could not kill me, but throw me back to these two meters and some mini game that you have to quickly click the space bar to get up.

Yes. I’m pouring out my grievances here because I invested in this game. I still spend real money in the game on premium units, battlepass and buy gold equipment when I don’t have silver orders. But I don’t like the direction ober is playing and that it’s moving away from the form the game had in CBT. I can download tools to create modifications and my own scenarios, but I’m a working person and I don’t like to spend time learning the program and working in it. I prefer to play games, assemble COBI models or go to the cinema with my wife.

P.S.
[That’s my fancy.
There are many airborne battalions in the game. They should be airborne.
As for me, the airborne should be only at the beginning of the battle, and later deployed from rallypoints and respawn points. And only attackers should be able to airborne. or landing planes should fly cyclically and only in this way it would be possible to jump out of it and we should be able to equip paratroopers as we want].

For this, I suggested paratroopers on the defender side (specially Berlin Axis) should have some other vehicle deployment mechanism such as halftrack APC.

It may be a good idea to change Paratroopers squad into “Motorised Special Force” which gets vehicle deployment and supply box with the vehicle, but available types of vehicle depend on map and mission.

stop use colored word on a grey font, what we have done to you for get our eyes flashed!

I have no issue with attackers being the only ones that get airborne infantry, WITH THE STIPULATION that defense gets access to stronger fortifications and time between objectives to fall back.

Yeah, the first wave of attacker paratroopers should try to distract enemy fire or destroy fortifications, not quick-run objectives before enemy retreat to there.

sounds like I’d enjoy CBT more

this alone convinces me, game pace for me is waaay too freaking fast rn

unfortunately though if devs changed it guess it didn’t work out well for some reason and sadly i guess we’re never coming back (unless for custom games or something which i do hope for)

The best option would be add some kind of special mode (similar to historical battles in WT). That could be more slow paced, way more restricted and with spawn points etc. (Could have some special rewards like avatars, skins for vehicles, special outfits etc)
But these things shouldn’t be implemented into random queues in my opinion. They should stay brainless unrestricted mayhem, basically a sandbox.

sounds great on paper but with current astonishing 150 players average in custom games that wouldn’t really work, just like hardcore, i like playing that but there’s no people to play with.

i wonder what’s wrong with custom games…

Yeah, they could support some kind of amateur community tournaments (with golds for example, idk) organized in customs. It could be heaven for competitive players (which I am not).

I would say a separate queue is the future, because for a free game, maybe not a lot of players research on custom games, and it become less fun and maybe less profitable because people do not know it.

First and what I think most important is negative XP multiplier, if a game filled by below certain percentage of active players, there is a -80% XP multiplier, also any mod game receive exactly no XP.

The second is because more people who play this free game may even not know it, which lead to less population play it which further discourage old players to play it by higher risk of negative XP multiplier.

I would say give less risk and less extent of negative XP multiplier and also give a more visible entrance and illustrate that in new player guide should be effective to encourage normal playerbase to try it out.

But your idea is also quite good, because sometimes I saw certain set of extremely sweaty players (usually content creators or some game organisation leaders) group together and fight against each other in random matches, which really annoy other random players in that match. It will be nice to make a separate platform for them which is more fair and less annoying to others.

imo customs needs something more appealing, like scripted missions or something, that would be awesome. Maybe this would provide more spotlight to them. + tweaking exp gain, f.eg. lonefighters should give you more exp per kill etc.

i feel that modding community upcoming days are bright

adding a mode like that
would divide the playerbase

is what they are trying to avoid.

They expecting masses of new players after release, that’s what they told us lol. (Its kinda funny with current poor servers, constantly lagging).

So I guess it wouldn’t be problem + I really don’t think many people would be interested in such restricted gamemode imho.
Enlisted is very casual game.

unpopular opinion:

planes were fun during CBT, yes they were broken but fun.

spawning right at the beginning of the match and dropping them nukes on the objective to get 50+ kills in one strike was pure insanity - yet fun.

I honestly don’t think the solution is to sideline it as a “custom mode”. It should either be a main mode or at least an event to test it out.
Unfortunately giving less xp or no xp will cause players not to play outright.
Players like myself and many of my friends came over from the Battlefield scene and some others in search of smarter, and more largescale gameplay. NOT COD.
Many of us want that gameplay but still be able to unlock things. To be honest, these types of battles should give MORE xp than standard quick que matches, as they take more time, coordination, etc to succeed at.

Well, parachute troops did not exist in the Third Reich when the Soviets stormed Berlin. The last time they jumped out of planes was probably in 1944. Then just the shoes.

I’ll disappoint you here, but the paratroopers were regular infantry after landing on the ground.

Yes you are right here. It should be like in a confrontation that the point is blocked for some time and in a gray area. This would also give the attackers time to reorganize. For example, the ability to replenish soldiers in a rallypoint placed by an engineer from the medic unit.

Well, that annoys me too. Plus, a few landing planes would be more immersive.

I also liked the slower pace of the game. These soldiers felt like they weighed something. But the developers apparently want to attract BF and CoD players, i.e. kids, hence the exclusion of brutality.

I think adding a realistic mode to the game. realistic in terms of weapon performance, damage, friendly fire and troop movement would increase the player base. Because in WT, the base of players playing realistic is many times larger than those playing arcade.
See the success of EFT players want realism.

You are not developing an account. And from what I understand from the description, no exp is charged.

Oh that’s right.

So I’m all for bringing the game back to its old ways. So to the mechanics from the CBT that were taken from us.

And these realistic details are what gave the most flavor to this game.

Concept of “Motorised Forces” give the freedom of selecting and restricting of vehicles to developers, so here I mean one some maps for some faction, these “pre-paratroopers” have ground vehicle deployment only (e.g. Berlin Axis), or plane deployment only (e.g. D-Day Allies before first objective captured), or both. There could even be amphibious vehicles or boats for certain maps.

Also, these different of vehicle options could count for different cost in terms of ticket or spawn points if they may implement it in the future.

Looks like Enlisted is not treating them as regular infantry now, because they can be equipped into different classes during battle and use multiple types of main weapon. Maybe both types of paratroopers could exist, the current “special force” come from event and premium, while regular paratroopers in techtree are pre-equipped depending on solider class and do not come with supply box but allow a larger squad size.

But the motorized and mechanized units themselves could be in the game. the possibility of storming positions using half-tracks or amphibious vehicles that would diversify the game.
And patrol boats.
