Thank you for fixing the berlin campaign… and then fucking it over again with the sovjet reward squad.
Again another high rate of fire, selectfire, low recoil SMG for the sovjets.
Played 2 matches on berlin now, won both in under 10 minutes. (Of corse as sovjets with my trusty PPK-42, because good fucking luck even trying to get anything done with germany now)
Every dedicated and therefore mostly a lot of the good players will have a new sovjet squad and it has exactly the effect I thought it would - it made germany unplayable again.
Don’t know how long this will last, but I won’t touch the german side anyway, because why the fuck would I? I don’t want to fight PPD40s with VG1-5 and PPSh41s with an M38.
I don’t pretend to know why they did. Never seemed over performing to me. Rarely saw it in battle, rarely faced it, when I did it wasn’t doing that great.

Well, I do find it to be pretty good, but that is of course pure opinion.
But even if it is just decent. It still causes all the dedicated players to of course play the sovjets. And even if they lose interest very quickly - it will still cause people to stay away from the german side. Because you know exactly how it will end.
Why give 6 choices as to where and on what side you want to carry a sword, but funnel all the people that finished the rewards into the sovjet team on berlin? How do you expect that NOT to fuck with the balance, that has been a problem at least since I started.
Well personally i dont believe that this specific squad can lead good players in Soviet side. For example I am at lvl 24 in Berlin with Soviets. My SMG squad is way better than this reward squad. This squad is only useful for very new players imo. After you have 4 Assaulters in your regular SMG squad the the later is just worst
Also yeah the gun is decent but it is miles away from the PPSh with the box mag and the PPD and PPSh with the drum mag
There I honestly think the problem isn’t the PPK-42 being too bad, but rather the PPD40 and the PPSh41 being just braindead deathlasers.
And if the PPK-42 is miles behind the regular SMGs, it was a waste of a reward that could have brought us something like a prototype STG44. The germans are heavily lacking in the SMG department. The MP40 is mediocre and no match for PPD and PPSh, the MG34 is no match, because any sovjet SMG with a 71 round drum is essentially a MG34 with better mobility, faster reload and less recoil, the VG1-5 is just a fucking joke anyway (whoever propsed that as the counterpart to the PPD40 should become janitor) and the M38 is decent (but not worth going through all the shit before it).
It would have been a good option to carry germans through the shitpile that Gaijin calls “Campaign rewards”.
Stop crying it’s not meta and they got far better options at reasonably low levels not to mention that the squad is dogshit… 4 rank 4 assaulters no more.members or rank 5 upgrades and NOT PREM GAINS
