Testing the "Forest Shadows" update

After going through and checking on the test server in practice. Any chance on doing an overhaul of Japan planes. My suggestions:

Ki-100 feels good for BR 3 - I like this addition. It does however make the Ki61 II Otsu Kai and Ki-61 I Hei both feel over BR’d. They have weaker ground attack ability and similar flight characteristics to the new Ki-100. As such I recommend:

  • Ki-61-II Otsu Kai BR IV - III
  • Ki 61-I Hei: BR IV - III

J2M3 is supposed to get rockets, and the N1K2-J has them. These 2 rockets do not make me feel like these are BR V aircraft. I think these should also drop down to 3, as they seem comparible to the FW190A8 which is now BR 3 (and feels good there)

  • J2M3: BR V - III
  • N1K2-J: BR V - III

Please consider adding the N1K1-J Kai b as a BR V Attack Plane. Per wikipedia, this was a conversion for dive bombing with a 250 kg bomb under belly and six rockets under wings.

In addition. Please consider adding a function to purchase additional squads of a squad type for silver or research points. (IE let me buy a second and third Fighter Pilot III squad or Assaulter II Squad etc).

Why did you give M36 Jackson ammo without explosive filler?

Do you think the platform is superior to pershing or what?

I really wonder who makes decisions like this. It makes literally no sense at all.

probably the same reason Firefly is still BR V. The thinking that “High pen” is everything…

I strongly urge the developers to reduce the reload time of the Soviet AVS-36 rifle. This weapon is severely handicapped by its 15-round magazine capacity while facing German rifles with 20-round magazines.

Although the AVS-36 received a rate of fire increase, this has only magnified its core weakness: poor sustained combat effectiveness. This mirrors why German players consistently prefer the FG42 II (20 rounds, slower RoF) over the faster-firing FG42 I. Crucially, the AVS-36 carries 5 fewer rounds than even the FG42 II, making its ammunition deficit even more punishing.

If Soviet forces aren’t meant to have access to a competitive 20-round magazine rifle, then significantly improving the AVS-36’s reload speed is essential to offset this disadvantage. This follows a fundamental balance principle: Rifles with larger magazines should reload slower, while those with smaller magazines should reload faster. Isn’t this perfectly reasonable?

As for the AVT-40, it likely won’t solve the core issue either – it significantly underperforms compared to the FG42 II, meaning players probably won’t favor it regardless.

it would be nice to see new maps have a temporary all BR for a week so anyone can try them before it goes back to high BR or low BR for that specific map

To be honest, this camouflage is very strange. After modification, it has been changed to Waffen SS’s dot44 camouflage suit.

I guess that’s not an M43 field hat, just an ordinary mountain hat. The tongue of the M43 field hat is much longer than in the game

They don’t really show the collar tabs of the Waffen SS or any other recognisable insignia as far as I am aware. The furthest resemblance might be those squad emblems in-game. There was this old Panther A BP skin from the Invasion of Normandy campaign pre-merge which was also modified based on feedback. As long as they keep adding these cool camos without having any overt reference to the Waffen SS it is fine by me. And I am sure that’s the case for a lot of other players as well.

The custom face is being applied to an AI soldier in your squad. That’s why I wrote ‘custom AI face’ for better clarity.
