Until the developers feel like fixing the completely broken matchmaking maybe they could at least remove the penalty for losing a match since right now US/SU tier 3+ have close to 0% winrate with these constant uptiers. Even at tier 2 and below their winrate is abysmal.
Because of this every game is filled with bots on allied teams which are facing real players on the German teams since why would you play allies with a permanent 50% penalty to XP gain and silver? It makes it impossible to grind anything. This creates of vicious cycle of more and more people switching to Germany or straight up leaving the game which aggravates the problem further.
But hey, at least we got trucks. That will surely bring people back.
They should remove the win bonus entirely and boost xp gain by 25% across the board. That alone would help to reduce the number of people who quit a match before itâs over.
Removing the Win Bonus is asinine. Players should be rewarded for success, even if that success happened to be against 2/3rds bots. I understand there are issues with matchmaking that I and everyone else is complaining about as well as silver gains but removing the win bonus solves exactly zero of these issues.
Win bonus should be pernamently removed. It only encourages ppl to desert not favorable matches and play the âbetterâ side.
(Also boost all exp by 50% of the win bonus to compensate for loose of exp.)
âBut then ppl wonât play the objective.â
Playing the objective gives more exp so players are encouraged to play the objective = to win.
That still doesnât solve the actual issue which is that Matchmaking isnât well implemented and some teams just have better stuff. If you fix those issues then the Win bonus is absolutely a good mechanic. Removing it doesnât incentivize not leaving and a penalty for leaving just incentivizes quitting the game entirely if youâre not having fun.
Win bonuses exist in every single marginally competitive game because they are a universally good mechanic which incentivizes winning games. Removing it does not fix the matchmaking or players leaving games. It only removes the incentive to play harder to win. Players donât think in terms of min-maxing the sunk cost fallacy and will still quit games they feel like theyâre losing.
The fix to your issue is better game balance and matchmaking so that players who quit one game can reasonably expect to have a similar next game regardless so quitting except in the most atrocious of steamrolls would not be favorable. As is, when German mains come across real players they quit because they know re-queuing has a reasonable chance of a bot lobby whether they consciously think it or not.
Whether you win or lose a match is rarely based on who plays better. The randomness of the matchmaker makes any consistency impossible in that regard. What ends up happening is people lose matches for reasons beyond their control, and end up just quitting so they can find a match where the dice rolled in their favor.
The win bonus incentivises quitting a losing match, and given how few people are playing the objectives as it is, it doesnât seem to be a major motivator in that regard either.
This is wrong by any measure. People leave games they arenât having fun in. You will solve zero of your issues by removing a reward for good play. The only fix is better matchmaking and game balancing. This has been tested by a lot of video games so we know how it works. Right now Allies, Soviets and Japan players donât really exist above BR 2. This is because BR3-5 is a shit show. When Germans above BR3 leave itâs because they realize theyâre having to fight real people.
Yes. But increase the score for capturing objectives to compensate, otherwise everyone and his mom will spawncamp all day. Itâs pretty bad already, I feel lucky if half my team is even trying to get on point. Some players safe farm so hard I would rather play with bots on my team.
