Mortars have become very annoying. they just spam on objective points and only one side gets hurt, so it becomes impossible for defenders or attackers to enter the point. In my opinion mortars should deal damage to teammates in the same way as artillery strike. It’s very frustrating when everything is bombed and destroyed and the enemy is running as if nothing really happens. The same thing can be said about aircraft bombs but they are much less annoying. balancing needs to be done for mortars.

as much as I would like that to stop the SPAM, it would become even more annoying because it wont stop people. Team mates will screw you over even more than they do now.
The only way it will work is if after a couple of team kills they get punished/killed or booted or something. lock their squad for the round maybe.
I don’t mean this to be solution for mortar spam. This should be forcing them out of dark zone.
FF from mortars is more of consistency instead of balancing factor. If artillery does damage to the friendlies why shouldn’t mortar do the same?

No I agree FF should be a thing. But I would only want it with a punishment system of some type. I really don’t want to put up with the nupties that would continuously pound their own guys because it doesnt cost them.
I think that report system is the best way to go in that matter.
Often it is the fault of “victims” that they go right into artillery fire (even if it’s clearly marked on the map). So it would be hard to verify who is shooting his friendlies on purpose. And there is no reason to punish sometimes innocent artillery/mortar players for their teammates mistakes.
Im sorry, but you want people who sit in the back spamming their mortars for uncounterable kills to be able to kill TEAMMATES actually pushing the point and being fair? Am I missing something? Are you OK?
there is reason to punish if you keep doing it. Thats why games like Post scriptum or Hell let loose will boot you after you have killed a certain amount of teammates. 1, 2, 3 maybe 4 is an accident, Any more is wreckless

I agree that it could cause problems with trolls firing at their team. But punishing players for no reason is definetely not a way to go.
Bots make a point of not entering the artillery zone on the map. So not many team kills will be bots. A few here and there or it was called in right on top of them which is bad on team mates behalf
I know that they avoid artillery zones. But not if player leaves them behind and then run to the point - then they prioritize getting back to the player over reacting to any danger.
Still, there are always players who run straight into artillery barrage zone, ignoring it completely and getting killed in the process.
I am not sure about FF on mortars, but they should definitly remove the Engineer members from the squad, at least make a team work together if they want to spam mortars.

Those people doesn´t care at all about teammates defending the cap if they can kill everything with their mortar anyway. The only difference with mortar being able to FF will be that not just enemies, but also teammates are going to suffer. Thinking that people abusing the game and knowing they are just making everyone´s experience miserable have any morals is honestly naive.
So, no. Issue with mortars was brought up trillion amount of times and it is pretty clear that in order to stop this, mortars must be denied option of getting ammo from engineers.
limit ammo on mortars per spawn … Make FF a thing for mortars and give then reduction in xp per kill. The more FF kills you get the greater your xp loss will be…
One or 2 FF kills will be no big deal but doing it continuously will hurt. Someone who does it continuously over several battles should be banned from using that squad for x number of battles.
Give mortars/bombers friendly fire, but put markers on the map for where they are going to hit for all friendlies as soon as they’re launched, so they have more time to move out of the way.
I agree, mortars already damage friendly vehicles but not infantry. But if they are to hurt friendly troops the icon of where the mortar landed needs to be placed as soon as the mortar leaves the barrel. Just like the area for artillery strikes. Otherwise the delay of knowing where your mortars are landing would lead to FF.
Some shots can take up to 10 secs to land with teammates not knowing of incoming fire.
In my opinion tk should be enabled for any dmg players can deal, also give us the option to kick teamkillers.
Then people would stop instantly spamming bombs nades mortars on cap points to avoid friendly fire.
