If you allow an upgraded tank into the fray you should have the ability to kill it on the opposite team. Just got out of a battle where someone had the upgraded German tank. He was wandering around the battlefield invincible. No one could kill him. Balancing of teams needs some work.

there are no invulnerable tanks - explosive packs kill all of them every time when used properly - heck you can even command your bots to attack them and they will kill them if not killed first themselves.
so it sounds like your team just didn’t know that.

Even stuart can kill a pz 4 if he flanks him. Explosive packs one shot tanks, PIATs can one shot a tank, you can lay mines that one shots a tank, you have planes that one shot tanks, engineers can build AT stationary gun that can pierce any tank armor. There is no such thing as invincible tank
Point is that this guy had an upgraded tank while no one on my team had mines, PIATs or planes or stationary gun builders to my knowledge. That’s were the problem lies I believe.
Whether the tank is “upgraded” or not is irrelevant - the problem lies with your team, not with the tank.
I just unlocked the panzer IV on Normandy, and I was disappointed at how quickly everyone tries to kill me, like spawn in drive to objective, and 10 det packs come flying from everywhere, killing me immediately. 
Yep, as Panzer IV you are always target No.1. But you are not as fast as Puma, soo you are a better target to destroy.

Everyone starts with explosive packs though.
you tea mjust sucked. Did anyone mark the tank? And no one had explosives or atleast a PIAT? i doubt it.
As others have pointed to, I personally have had absolutely no issues killing the later tanks with explosive packs / weapons. And also going off what others have said here, I do doubt that absolutely nobody on the team had explosive packs, cosnidering they’re readily available.
