Tanks camping with total immunity deep within grey zones are a major problem, especially in the Normandy maps. This creates a major advantage for that team as that tank can rain down shells and guns without worrying about being attacked for the entire match. Two suggestions that could fix it.
A 15-second timer when tanks are stationary outside of the battle zone. When those 15 seconds are up, the tanks immediately start receiving slow “camping” damage leading to the death of the tank and crew.
When a tank is stationary for more than 15 seconds in a grey zone, artillery ranges are increased to reach the tank, and a specified width is opened in the grey zone from the battlefield to the tank to allow for infantry to attack the tank.
i have no issue with this at any time, in the early game you have planes capable to deal with them
and late game AT weapons can demolish them from a distance
ohh yea other tanks and AT guns can also deal with them
but if you want to stop tanks from “camping in the grey zone” then det pacs must be removed from all classes other then engineers and at gunners and a increase of the map area
The best way to get rid of camping enemy tanks is to give it an option to do better than that. Replace the detpack with proper AT grenades and mines, and allow troops to advance farther ahead of the cap point so they could reach enemy tank. Give soldiers a second line spawn point within a grey zone further away if the front-line spawn is camped by forward enemy units. A tank staying in this zone would be too far away from the cap to do significant damage.
