You haven’t seen BFV
Recently I’ve player “last tiger” single player campaign and I’ve learned that shots to the sides cause the 60t tank to tilt about 30°
Yeah, and Stalingrad is not even that bad because its shy with trenches.
Try Berlin, Tiergarten is basically moon drive while the area between Göring’s office and Reich ministry garden is a tank nightmare filled with trenches and Flak 88s tank traps.
I lost more than a dozen tank attempting to drive over trenches, so my approach is going around them even if you miss out half the match.
The trenches aren’t even the biggest problem. There’s a lot of little micro junk objects that you only notice when you’re irrevocably stopped/blocked for good.
Short answer: only drive over the trenches on the steel bridges, or if your tank is a Churchill(because long boi). Anything else, go around.
Long answer: if you desperately want to go over a trench, meet it perfectly perpendicular. Most tanks the same size or greater than a Panzer III can clear most trenches if you go perpendicular to it. Some trenches are a bit wider like the ones in Stalingrad so you have to watchout for that, and tanks like the Stuart and Ha Go simply just get fucked by trenches (although you can often drive in the trenches with those tanks so maybe have some fun with them that way). The posts sometimes do get in the way so you have to drive between them. So basically learn the width of trench in the game and then learn which tanks can drive over each trench and where to drive over each trench.
Even when doing this though the only tanks I’ve seen able to make it are the really fast moving tanks such as Puma and Hellcat, and the outlier being the Churchill is very adept at it too.
