Tankettes were a part of ww2 horrific theatre - Tankettes were pretty much always armed up with machine guns and it would be nice to see them deployed as two or four member squads. Obviously AI is terrible at some basic movements and orientation in-game so it would also have an issue with controling the tank - It would be funny to see them and try to handle a terrain in a tankette as an AI, perhaps this could be added as a special mode.
tldr; op is suggesting tankettes ingame but also seeing them being possibly controlled by an AI but also acknowledges having such vehicle operated solely by an AI could be very challenging due to its lack of coordination

Considering how badly players get massacred in vehicles, I couldn’t imagine AI trying to use them would end very well.

Dont think AI could be good for it either - but having it as another type of vehicle would be a nice addition
Basically closest things to tankette would be panzer 1 for germany and T-40 for soviets and L3 for italy
Only japan and USA are technically without any tankettes
Having type 94 for Japan:
And CTMS-1TB1 for USA - though usa has that 4 50 cal truck
Overall the op idea is not bad, he’s basically suggesting having some sort of light armored vehicle that would be infantry focused armed up with machine guns
We have a few tankettes ingame however
I will note on the Japanese tanks there are MGs that are mounted in the sides of the turrets, but can’t even be operated currently.
Not only that, but you can’t even use the cannon in the turret and the lower MG at the same time, let alone trying to get the multiple MGs theory to work.
Perhaps if they at least made the current tanks’ Machinegunner seat function on AI, I could maybe see this idea working in the future, but as of currently, the existing tank systems for them don’t even work properly.

Still funny enough, in defunct H&G, the starter tankettes were the most resistant to AT rambos as they were better at mowing down infantry (or motorcycle rambos). Was different when facing other bigger tanks thought… But funny times.
I mean we already have Greyhound and M13, so why not.

The LVT with its 50. would also be a good low BR APC.
Amphibious, large, and armed with a 50. for anti infantry and anti vehicle would be untouchable by other APCs.
Yeah, the US APCs all have .50 cals and they would all be pretty fun. M3 and LVT-1 could be useful with their .50 cals.

there are tiny tanketts, such as the type 95/97 l3/35. tk5, skolds m4, carder loyd, ford 3 ton some that look more like tanks then tools of war

Japs do get an amphibious tank in the tech tree tho. Could be good for sneaky flanks especially on Gavutu
