Tank vs tank just doesn't work

Before I say anything, let me show you this.

In a head to head confrontation where I saw him first and me was the first to shoot at a point with the green sights, and I lost…

Can someone please explain this to me, because I don’t see any sense in this. I have an IS-2, I shot it at the junction of the turret with the rest of the tank that was marking me in green and I didn’t do anything at all and it blew me up with a single shot. ._.

Accuracy isn’t 100%

Well the damage model in Enlisted eats up shots from time to time - and when that happens you are dead as an IS2 driver, considering how long you need to reload.

Also the penetration indicator is terribly inconsistent.

Green only means it will pen if it hits there.

Doesnt mean it will hit there, might have hit low and ricocheted

but we are talking about a gun that penetrates 130mm at 1500 meters in a frontal shot against 80mm armor at 30 meters.

That already doesn’t make sense in itself, but for a 75mm gun to penetrate 120mm of armor at 40 meters in a single attempt is even more ridiculous. .-.

At 30-40 meters it is impossible to miss with a 122mm cannon xD

Yep, it takes a century and a half to recharge even with the fast charging upgrade.

Just the inclination of the armour

where did you shoot it and at what angle?

also idk if they have dispersion for tanks, so your shell could have ended up millimeter up or down where you couldnt actually penetrate enemy tank.

I shot at the junction of the turret and the tank, there wasn’t much to bounce off of. I can’t say more because the damage window didn’t even pop up.

We were perfectly facing each other, I aimed at the junction of the turret and the tank.

There was no tilt to either side on either tank.

here?

btw just notice this is mm difference from here

In that area, I got green xD

Its not 80 mm its 80 mm angeld at 55 degrees .

Which increases the effective armor to around 120 mm.

If you hit the upper front armor it could be over 140 mm thick.

This would further increase if the Pahnter is slightly angeld.

Her is the the report on the effectivnes of the 7.5 cm Kwk 42 L 70.

It would have no problem penetrating the upper front plate.

And the lower front plate.

Edit

This shot here is bad because the armor is thicker here and the Pahnter would strugle to penetrate it.

This is a more possible shot.

Same with the lower front plate.

like i said you get one mm up and you get area where you cant penetrate… it would have been better if you shot at turret directly.

hmm it doesn’t make sense to me, but I won’t argue what I don’t know lol thanks!

Chances are you over penetrated and the panther crew just survived and shot you back.

Your cannon has an inaccuracy

What i mean is if it hit low, it could have skimmed off the top of hull.

Like skipping rocks

But yeah…dumb shit happen in warthunder too
