Tank Support Incentive

If tanks had a circle around them where if the friendly player performs kills while being inside that circle, close to the tank, then that act is awarded bonus points for being tank support. If the player is inside the circle himself and getting kills from there, of an enemy outside the circle, then bonus points on the kill will be awarded for that as combined arms bonus. These both stack if he’s both inside the circle and kills an enemy that was an intruder inside the circle, then he gets both these bonuses at once on each such kill.

Maybe also the combined arms bonus points were shared for tank and infantry support inside the circle? So that the tank kills grant a little bonus also to the infantry support, and the infantry support also grant the same bonus to the tank? This makes combined arms really incentivized as it’s basically profitable, and it makes for interesting game play as well. All players will be satisfied with this as well. The tankers have a way better chance of getting the infantry support that they depend on to be operational on the battlefield. The infantry will be properly awarded for this as well. The enemy already have all the ways for combating this unit as well, which for them makes it a more high value target, given the concentration of forces, but also with the knowledge that it’s also a more dangerous opponent.

I would love that. Currently in game I like to stick close to friendly tanks the best I can, provide protection for them, as well as use them as an “enemy” magnet. Helps get some extra kills for some counter-counterattacks :+1:

It would be nice to get points for this.

Also I’d add a quick order for AI to escort the tank (look at tank, press X). So now they follow the tank instead of the player.
AI probably won’t do a damn but at least we have an option.

And how would that be advantageous? To make the tank a more juicy target for CAS? And then take the tank slot for yourself?

Edit: maybe good protection against EPs, true.

Great suggestion, would give incentives to tankers to not greyzone.

This was btw suggested long ago, but they apparently didn’t like the idea.

If AI wasn’t shit, this could be usefull to protect the tank. Sadly ppl are affraid of their targets shooting back so it’s mostly for visuals.
Though maybe a slight buff for AI when you use this order? I don’t know and I don’t care tbh.

Some ppl were against it as:

  • it would promote camping (don’t ask me how)
  • it could allow idle farming (like with medics+barbed wire etc)
  • it’s cas/tank magnet

Also if we could sit on tanks or ride and shoot or something. Don’t some tanks have a spot for someone to sit on it and shoot while being protected?

nice and simple

Tanks are easy targets because maps are cramped and small.
You dont need to solve basic problems with complex solutions.
Basic solution: make maps bigger

and get rid of explosive packs smh

Well. Where are most (not-dead) tanks? In greyzone.
It would make me play more mortar but I dont know if would actually help other campers like sniper squads much

I guess you are right. But some ppl implied it will cause tanks to camp more. Unless I missremember something.

Huh That makes no sense. I mean usually infantry is not in greyzone excluding for two squad types so I dont know how that would make them camp more.

Me neither. But that’s what I recall ppl saying.

it would be a good think, since tankers wouldn’t have to worry about getting flanked by infantry (or at least not as much), especially for those tanks with limited anti-infantry capabilities

just make it so the bonus only applies when fighting enemies/being fired at

a good incentive to use fighters, spaas or the engie aa guns, right now I feel like everyone ignores bombers and attack planes, might just be me idk
