The game really needs a bit of a tone down on the tank spamming, i was playing a game with the Allies on Airfield and the team killed a total of 31 German tanks, we were blowing them up non-stop but they just kept coming and coming , probably there werent even a full second without 2 tank being on the field slingign HE into us.
There should be some timer between getting a tank blown up & the next one spawning down like with Artillery, as right now if you are the deffender side you can waste tanks by the dozens rushing into the enemy and making caps miserable. At least if there would be a 3 minute timer between losing a tank & being able to spawn the next would make both the OP tanks & killing them more valluable.
Its not that i cant blow them up, i was blowing up 7 Pz IV with my BR II Bazooka. Its just not fun playing AT all game long, cause every 20-30 second a new tank shows up.
Tanks are extremely weak in this game—yet, people continually ask to have them nerfed. I don’t get it! And, only two tanks can be on the field at any given time. How is this OP? The game you just described (above) is highly unusual, yet you want to nerf tanks based on this one experience.
What you probably experienced was a tank spam by the AI, especially if they were spawning in and making the exact same mistakes every time —although new tankers do this as well. Personally, I don’t know why the devs wasted their time programming the AI to play as tankers. It’s unnecessary.
Furthermore, we don’t need any more restrictions in this game—there’s enough already. Personally, I don’t fly planes because I’m no good at it… nor, do I enjoy it. So if I have a good pilot on my team who only wants to fly for the entire game, then that’s where I want him since any time that I would spend as a pilot would be wasted resources for the entire team. You call it spamming, I call it “resource management.”
I don’t have a problem with the amount of tanks, but I do have a problem when your in a bunker at the lowest level and get killed by a tank. Or just a couple nights ago, playing Germans vs Russians Rzhev. I don’t know if its a church or what, but its the building that everyone seems to fight in the basement with the enemy going in one door and you going into the other. Anyway, I lost my first four squads without ever firing a shot as the enemy tank (which was on the far side of the building and quite a ways back) kept blasting the building which apparently had enough force to kill entire squads. Now, compare that to my dive bomber. In a different game made 6 passes I believe dropping 6 bombs a pass on a log cabin the enemy had control of and only scored ONE kill. So, either the cement block church is very fragile, or the log cabin roof is made of special wizard armor.
BTW, I was so pissed about the tank killing my four squads that I jumped in my plane and destroyed five tanks. We still lost though, but I felt a little better.
Good move! When something isn’t working, change tactics!!! Too many players keep running straight into enemy gunfire for the entire game, complain about it, and ask for weapon nerfs.
Yes, some of the walls in this game are ridiculous: For example, when flamethrowers can penetrate walls and kill people inside of buildings.
This is a weird post why would you complain if you have to play AT all match and get kills on tanks? And also, as others have pointed out you can only spawn two vehicles at a time. I don’t call that spamming at all. Tanks are such wet noodles in this game that you can almost ignore them and win the match. I mean I’ve been in matches where tanks took the field on attack, and I was on defense and still pulled out a win even when my team hardly deployed AT to deal with them. Sure, it’s one experience but it still provides an example of how worthless tanks are.
I agree it would be awesome to throw a tank shell at a building and watch the wall fall down or drop a bomb on a roof and see it crumble. But they would have to move the game to a different engine like Frostbite or a better Unreal engine. Probably something they are not willing to do. The flamethrower thing going through walls from what I’ve found on the Bug Report forum they are aware of it. How knows if they plan on fixing it.
Tanks weak in this game … i wonder what strong is then, cause with a short 75mm gunned German tank you can get 30-50kills with little to no effort if you dont just rush in blindly.
Playing AT all game long is just too boring, but since barely any of the teammates do it most of the time you need to do it yourself, otherwise the tanks left unchecked will just blast dozens of your teammates who try to do meatwave attacks towards the cap.
For me flanking & sweeping a house with SMG is fun , while building AT gun in concealed position and sniping half a dozen tank is just boring a bit, but if the bots or newbies decides to just swarm attack with tanks you need to do the later & set up your AT gun to kill them till their burnt out hulls block the whole street.
Have you ever played H&G (Heroes and Generals)? Tanks in that game were faster, more agile, and more powerful. They were also harder to take down by infantry. You couldn’t kill them with a single grenade, like in Enlisted—especially the heavies. Yet, people still destroyed them.
Tanks in Enlisted are slow, clunky, and less powerful. Turrets turn much more slowly, and you also have the “bouncy red circles” you have to line up when aiming—which did not exist in H&G. In short, tanks are extremely weak in this game.
Furthermore, tanks have to traverse extremely uneven terrain on most maps—and avoid a myriad of clutter (sandbags, walls, dead vehicles, trenches, etc.). It can be frustrating to try to maneuver around so many different things in your way in such a large vehicle like a tank.
Finally, tanks in H&G did not have to move to a specific point to reload weapons. The tank simply reloaded weapons after a short period of time. Having to reload at specific points in Enlisted is just annoying.
Just my own personal assessment based on past experience, which I don’t expect you to agree with if you haven’t had similar experiences yourself.
I havent played H&G so i cant really comment on that one. The only thing i can compare to is WT, there the M4s M3s, PZIII and PZ IV or T34 all usually go down in 1 shot, here they can take quite a bit more beating.
Traversing terain feels quite different depending on the maps, Most eastern front and tunisia are easy to navigate … but Pacific is a hell to drive around.
