Tank crew kills

When I try to destroy a tank with bombs or rockets, sometimes the tank survives but the crew does not.
In the kill cam I see some crew are killed.
But I dont believe those kills appear in my score and also not in the killfeed, not even as assists.
Is this correct?

I get this with anti tanks weapons as well.

from what I can tell it’s just a case of poor word choice in the UI.

AFAIK the losses section of the “kill cam” shows the number of crew the tank has lost overall since it spawned. I think the dev’s put it there so that you can figure out how many crew are left alive in the tank. So it’s not actually an indicator of crew that you yourself have killed, which is why you don’t get credited for the kills. For your case what this means is you damaged the tank (the highlighted parts shown in the cam is what you damaged), but didn’t actually kill any crew. The “Losses: 2 tankers” were just crew that were previously already killed in the tank.

You can test this if you have a friend you can squad with. If they kill any crew in a tank, you can shoot out the barrel of the tank (a hit which wouldn’t kill any crew), and the “kill cam” that appears for you will likely show the “losses” part with the number of crew your friend killed, even though you yourself hadn’t killed any crew with the shot to the barrel.

It’s pretty stupid and confusing tbh. Dev’s should change the wording to say “crew remaining” or something, so that you can still use the “kill” cam to see how many crew are left in the tank, without confusing anyone over whether they killed any crew themselves.

It seems unlikely that the killcam shows crewmembers that were killed earlier.
That is because I see this almost always when a tank doesnt get destroyed right away.
It seems unlikely that every tank that survives my attack, already had some crew killed earlier.
But also, sometimes the killcam says ‘no casualties’, when I have not killed anyone inside.
It makes no sense to show me that message if nobody else killed some crew earlier.
I love this game but some things are a bit confusing.

As Dirtbag already said. It shows the losses overall since the tank spawned.

Personally I like it. I only trust my killfeed. Once I know how many crew member the tank already lost, I can aim for the critical seats like driver, gunner and loader. (next to critical parts of the tank itself of course)
