Tank balance - yet again some controversial thoughts on my part

I’ve had to suffer 105 Sherman PTSD as BR2 Japan, i think the KV2 isnt markedly more triggering than that

TBH Tiger 2 as is in the game currently is unironically kinda BR6-y. Its an only tank that is basically strafe proof, recently became somewhat bomb proof (unless you doink it directly), HVARs are super inconsistent on it, AT only works on its sides, it’s kinda fast, has fast firing gun with both obnoxious HE and AP that is just a point and click adventure and amazing mgs to boot

IS2 dies to a single 30mm hit from the top and takes 3 business days to reload, Pershing will burn to death from any half assed strafe, same as Japan’s clown car, which also misses any form of mg lol

that in itself has got to be a bug. 30mm in enlisted only have various HE belts…nothing over 6mm of pen

Someone showed the X-ray where you could see the engine is basically unarmored from the top and there is only like 6mm between it and crew compartment
No idea if it’s actually true, all i know KT is annoying as fuck to kill and everything else is a bit of a joke :stuck_out_tongue:

well its possible, i have not seen that…Its not that way in warthunder for sure though.

The KT is a tough nut, but 37 NAS, and 45 NAS cut throught it easily. After the 45 NAS gets its APHE round this patch, its going to murder the KT

Wait for TIS MA, SU-8 and others to show up…that will be nasty

What I suspect is happening, is the HE is exploding over the AMMO wracks and somehow ignoring the armor or overpresuring and triggering ammo wrack.

this used to happen in warthunder with Certain SPAA vs tanks (M427 used to destroy tanks without penning with Twin 40mm cannons)

even impact grenades used to do this in enlsited

thats my guess anyway

I wish there was a tech tree 45
Although given how obnoxious the TIS MA is it could be the first premium squad I’d actually buy

Definitely pay to win tier…but so much fun…

right, a few more tanks to be mentioned:

T-28 - Replace a few/all Shrapnels with APHEs to turn it into a glass cannon or replace it with KT-28 equipped T-28 for a quicker firing gun but with the same shitty anti-armor performance or move it to BR1 outright with no changes

Ho-Ni III - move it to BR2 at least

short barreled Panzer IVs - at the very least give them some HEATs.

This is not true at all. I own premium KV2. And as far As I know, KV1 is unable to destroy Tiger 2 H frontally. Meanwhile KV2 has literally no problem to do so.

It’s completely misleading to label KV-2 as “just KV-1 with longer reload”.

KV-2 definitely does belong to BR4. There’s no reason why such tank should be allowed to fight BR1 and BR2 tanks.

And it’s worth to point out, that even if your label " it’s your KV-1 with longer reload, we have TT BR4 KV-1.
And the KV-1 that’s on BR3 is literally one of the best BR3 tanks (if not the best).

KV-2 definitely shouldn’t be lowered to BR3.

Truth has got nothing to do with it, except to say “its true that is my Opinion”. And my opinion is always based on a -+ 1 BR hardlockout because IMO its shouldnt be more than that for the reason you stated.

And we dont share the same perspetive. You are an Enlisted Vet, I am a Warthunder and Enlisted Vet.

When it comes to matching vehicles vs vehicles, KV 2 is matched vs Enlisted BR 2 and 3 vehicles (It doesnt see tigers and Panthers). Its a noob tube with a long reload, and no harder to remove than a KV 1

This is absolutely terrible reasoning.

  1. WW2 tanks in WT are spread across 7 BRs, in enlisted it’s just 5 BRs.
  2. In Enlisted, it’s basically never about pure tank vs tank encounters. They have their infantry support.
  3. Armor in WT is not as important as in enlisted. Since in WT, WW2 tanks are mixed up with post war tanks. Lot of people are abusing it and are playing highly maneuverable LT tanks which has no problem to penetrate HTs of the same BR. And thus WW2 HTs in WT are significantly less effective than in Enlisted.
  4. there’s no reason why KV-2 in enlisted should be “noob tube” just like in WT.
  5. KV-2 can easily fight any German BR4-5 vehicles in enlisted.

For many people, KV-1 and tigers 2 are literally the hardest tanks to destroy in enlisted.
How is that even argument that’s KV-2 is not harder to remove than KV-1?
It already has huge advantage over KV-1 in being able to OHK any German BR4-5 tank. Something that’s BR4 KV-1 is definitely not capable of.

  1. current BR2 tanks would suffer against KV-2 more than KV-2 is currently “suffering” against BR5 tanks.

You are completely missing my point.

My goal with those BR changes is to allow BR1 to have a better chance against BR3 - while BR3 should have a better chance against BR5.

KV 2 would be less effective against low BR while KV1 would be more effective - however as a trade KV1 cant fight high BR, KV2 can.

The same logic I applied to Allies with BR2 vehicles being lowered to BR1 - so they can fight BR3, while M10 moves to BR3 which can be attacked my low BR - but can target higher BRs.

Also why I didn’t really change German BR3 since it already can be beaten by low BR - while having a chance against high BR, with the exception of STUG III TT getting added to BR3 because it would be nice if Germany at least had something with more than 50mm of consistent armor.

105 has the opportunity to rely on the pressure of high-explosive bombs to destroy the Tiger H head-on.
The same is true for 120 against M26
Isn’t a slight advantage of this degree unacceptable?

Than make them a replacement for IS2 in the premium field
Might as well make them one of the intelligence tests for low-level players

There are simply some mechanics missing in enlisted, tank damage is always ONLY determined by explosive filler - solid AP needs to deal damage with shrapnel and broken armor pieces flying into the inside of the tank, overpressure as a whole mechanic needs to be added and turret shot traps need to become a thing - that would nerf T34 and Panther tanks specifically.
