In July 1944, other Panzer Divisions arrived at Normandy after landings. They were the 2nd SS Panzer Division Das Reich, with 79 Panthers, the 1st SS Panzer Division Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler, with 89 Panthers, the 9th SS Panzer Division Hohenstaufen, with 79 Panthers, and the 116th Panzer Division, with 79 Panthers, in total, 326 Panthers.
(take with pinch of salt)
Still more balanced than smth that cant be penned but can still pen anything else so whats your point?
They didnât meet any American forces tho. The Americans didnât see any of the big cats until later into French iirc
There were also no Jumbos present during the Normandy landings.
Yeah, i think the jumbo should be removed or replaced with the M4A2 and the M4A2 with M4 or M4A1. (Preferably with the M4)
PSA: the M2 carbine and M3A1 also should be
I still donât know what the devs were thinking, I really donât.
itâs not a " the " worse sherman. what are you talking about.
Well you said that the JUMBO should be replaced with 75mm sherman or firefly.
I AM saying that putting any Sherman with the M3 75mm gun after the M4A2 which is before the JUMBO wonât make any sense because the M4A2 is the best M3 75mm gun Sherman.
it can be penned though.
Personally i think it should be replaced with a 105 Sherman or an M10 wolverine
105 sherman has amazing HE but worse penetration than the 75mm, making it a decent sidegrade, and the M10 would have an amazing gun for killing tanks, on par if not better than the German 75mm but slower turret rotation and an open top
the firefly wouldnt be OP since although it is better than the Panzer 4 in terms of penetration, the P4 and firefly could still pen eachother pretty easy and the fireflys gun wouldnt have the post pen damage of the Panzer4
I feel like its necessary to point out that tank balance is always gonna be off in some way like, no matter what.
And donât for that the counterpart to the Pz3 N is the M8 Scott and not the M4, but for some reason itâs acting like a Pz3 M, which depending on your viewpoint is better or worse. For me the only real issues are why they even decided to put the horrid Pz4 J and the Jumbo in at all. IMO they should ditch the Ausf J, put the Ausf H down there, then throw in the Jagdpanzer 4 (75) if not the Panther as the big bad final one.
As for the Jumbo, it could easily be replaced with a M4A1 76 since they were actually there.
105mm Sherman would be interesting, iirc it got 87mm of pen with the HEAT and also a lot with the HE.
The M10 is comparable to the Pz 4 based tank destroyer.
Never said the firefly will be OP just that it will be better than the Pz 4 H in a lot of ways, the only thing the Pz 4 is better at is depression and number of crew members.
The firefly was present in normandy. The British brought it along. The jumbo arrived a few weeks into the Normandy campaign as well.
The first 128 Jumbos arrived in France via Cherbourg on the 22nd September 1944. Thatâs more than a few weeks!
Fair Fair but it is supposed to be a progression of the whole campaign. I expect moscow to get stuff like the Tiger extremely late game or never where I expect to see Tiger 1âs in normandy within 1-2 campaign expansions.
Tiger didnt even exist in Moscow
Iâm aware but these campaigns are supposes to represent campaigns not battles.
The battle of Moscow was over before the Tiger even existed⌠It should not be there because the âcampaignâ was over before the Tiger was introduced to any tank unit
I really donât think you understand the concept of campaigns. The Moscow Campaign is the Battle for Moscow, not all of Russia. Stalingrad and Kursk are not part of the Battle for Moscow. Those would require separate campaigns. Same thing with the Battle of Normandy. It takes place⌠in Normandy, not all of France. And I have no clue why youâre mentioning the Gewehr 43 when its not available at the Battle of Moscow in game. Also, the Wikipedia article sites the end of the Battle of Moscow as January 7, 1942. Not the end of 1942.
Keep in mind that these are campaigns, not battles, so while Jumbo on D-day doesnât make sense, anything that eventually made its way to Normandy is acceptable, even if it was later on. Considering that we donât have timeline restrictions for the maps if some new equipment was distributed halfway through I expect to see Panthers at higher levels of campaign progression at some point.
