You almost have to hit them dead on .Try this in real life . I would think a shell explosion of a shell radius kill should be 50 ft radius not 5 feet.

yeah the HE shell not like HE. i hope gaijin put AP high explosive, that can make satisfy kill with one shot. like war thunder. ctrl + c, ctrl + v. just like ubisoft make latest ac series, lmao

funny because in closed beta it was the same way then they changed it to make it effective now its back to alpha level.
Gonna be a pretty big tank shell to kill with blast at 50 feet - the US 37mm HE has less HE in it than a hand grenade, which then has to burst thicker walls… where do you get your information about lethality from?

I do’t think I’ve ever seen any tank shell not kill with 1 shot that actually hits - and I’ve killed plenty of people with splash from near misses so not sure what you mean?
Most people seem to have little or no understanding of just how weak small caliber HE actually is.

I find them good enough, I m having a blast doing multikills with them
And, shooting one against a Stuart just to see the crew die after a few seconds its too efective
I m yet to notice a problem with them

Of course - but TBH claims of having hit right next to someone and it doing no damage simply do not ring true for me - it is nottoriously difficult to land a shell close to someone standing on flat ground - a small error in gun elevation means you mist by proverbial miles, and I reckon that is what is usually happening - people are actually missing most of the time.
It doesn’t take much of a miss with a small HE charge and you get no effect even though it looks close.
HE is not broken, your assumption is.
I also thought HE is broken, before I unlocked the M8 with the 75mm cannon. Now I feel like it works just as it is supposed to. I can fire into a bunker and kill everyone in there. The T-60/M5A1 have cannons that aren’t that far from machineguns. The low AoE damage makes kind of sence. I know it does have some issues but in general it is fine.
Yeah - the M8 75mm has over 10 times the explosive content of hte Stuart HE round - not sure which ammo they have used but it is about 500 or 670 grams of HE viz about 39
ETA: I just read that he 75mm HEAT round has 1 lb £ of Pentolite - don’t know what the TNT equivalence of that is, but 1 lb is about 450 grams - so still more than 10 x teh Stuart HE load!!
