Tank ammunition explosion should cause casualties

Tank ammunition explosion should cause casualties
When the tank explodes, I can stand next to it without any injury… This is unreasonable and unreal

Humm…I can’t. I’ll die for sure…

so you saying should explode like grenade rather then Vulcano.

well that would require modeling depending on ammunition left inside. also you would need more complex modeling of destroyed tanks where turret could fly tens of meters from hull… somehow i dont think this is priority…

btw if you look at destroyed/disabled ww2 tanks, you will see that most of them are in one piece so idk if there is a need for further complication.

Not really you can just make it a set value. They don´t need to overcomplicate things.

War Thunder also has this so it´s been done with the models in the engine before.

Nobody asked them to overhaul particle effects too so who cares? It´s a cool detail that even BFV portraid.

You don´t know how they´ve been destroyed so that´s a dumb arguemeant to make. There´s plenty of pictures where tanks are so destroyed they´re barely recognisable.

To add a damage effect to nearby Infanty when a tank explodes? I like to think DF devs are capable enough to do something like that.

but there is difference between loadouts and remaining ammunition. tank wont explode into pieces with low ammo, or mostly AP ammo remaining. so yeah there needs to be complication.

well check video i posted. you have half an hour of allied ww2 tanks getting destroyed/disabled in various ways.

you would be surprised. they are incapable of fixing bug where you get 10vs13 for 4 months since i reported it (and it was in game since beginning) and you expect them to add damage effect+new models when they hit ammo rack?

I agree. There has to be some sort of splash damage as well. I’m just hoping for larger maps and better flight physics, just something a less wonky than what it feels.

Atleast they added this effect of tanks burning like that from the recent major update but we have yet to see flying turrets so far.

Making turrets of enemy tanks fly makes tanking more satisfying experience.

seems like turrets flying is happening more on modern (russian) tanks than on ww2 tanks.

weird, i seem to catch fire if i’m anywhere near a dead tank

Yes, I think most of it simply burn, not explosed. You had 10 sec to get out before you get burnt or intoxicated. But I have no knowledge to say that …maybe the xplosion was contained into.

well explosion usually seeks path of least resistance, so most of the force will go through the hatch. but if the explosion is big enough it will blow out turret and/or deform tank. so question is what type of ammo did shot hit, what part of the shell did it hit (cause it is possible to hit non explosive part and thus prevent secondary explosion), how much tnt shell contains, how good ammo shielding is inside tank etc.

i saw one analysis where they showed critical flaw in t72 and why it explodes so much (flinging turret 10s of meters in air) vs abrams. simply t72 has all of its ammo below turret and gunners, so when it explodes it creates violent explosion. and abrams and leopard have ammunition in separate protected storage in back of the turret.

No there´s no reason why they need to care about that. This isn´t a milsim.

Wow a half an hour video from a war that killed millions and destroyed hundreds of thousands of armored vehicles. Water tight arguemeant for sure.

Pretty sure there´s a different explanation to that. No way one team gets more than 10 players. Might be people leaving and being replaced by bots or something.

Yes, that shouldn´t be too much to ask for.

Bruh I already told you, the tanks do that in War Thunder and the models in this game are taken from War Thunder.

same argument can be made in other direction. if most tanks are in one piece why do we need simulate damage around tank?

i am not saying that all tanks were in one piece, but most were. and these were documented on video. i was interested in seeing actual explosions at the moment of impact and found this compilation. honestly i was surprised about how relatively intact they were considering that t-72 explode really spectacularly and it is more modern tank.

check topic. provided enough evidence there. it is broken MM.

this is not day of work and would require a lot of dev hours invested into this. overall i am not against, but i would really like for devs to prioritize resolving core issues of the game. like fixing playerbase disparity, making actual functioning MM, resolving critical bugs etc.
while this could be nice feature, it is not critical for the game, while some other things are.

I don’t know from where are these draws, but I admire the precision of the picture we have when we hit a tank one way or another
