Could we please gain the ability to turn off the aim assist for tanks, due to it aims at trees and other things that I don’t want to shoot at… I filled in the lines so it’s easier to see them and the issue I am having.
Tanks have no aimassist at least on pc. Might it be that you are on conole or realy close? If you are too close your tank shoots off a little to the side the where the gun is. You don’t shoot out the optics.
Like GeneraBlacky has said, you don’t aim through the barrel of the gun, you aim through the scope and that sits off to the side a bit. So your scope (crosshairs) might aim at one thing, but your gun (that 3-line cross thing, which you call an aim assist) aims at another thing. It’s not a problem with distant targets, but when you have stuff like trees right in front of you, it gets tricky.
The same problem exists with handheld weapons. When you sit behind cover and you aim just above the edge of that cover, you still often hit the cover, because the sights sit above the barrel.
That cross, which you call an aim assist, is a courtesy by the developers, so you know when your shot is blocked.
Yes? … I think we both want to say the same thing… He called that aim assist, but it’s the green pen indicator he circled on the picture. To be fair, that indicator does assist your aiming merely by telling you if it’s ok to shoot “here” or not…
You are just shooting at the pole. The only way to not have this is move the tank or move the turret somewhere else. From that position and target there is no way not to hit that post.
