or
rate2

and again who can help with translation - thanks

because translating the text of a document from English to Russian is so easy
so whoever wants to help, who speaks English, please translate and write the characteristics

It’s even more interesting to figure it out and discuss it

what do you want to translate exactly ?

usa doesnt need this

I read it and in short:

  • previous tests of T23 based on BAR but belt fed failed (gun shouldn’t be adopted), they should now test the T33 based on M2 aircraft MG (I guess something stinger-like?)
  • tests of the gun with emphasis on accuracy, T33 is less accurate than other infantry MGs
  • consideration of psychological effect, it’s limited for infantry weapons, artillery and mortars are he primary cause of psychological damage
  • mention of MG34, MG42, FG42 but I have no idea why as they aren’t compared to T33 or anything, they just are in form of a table and do nothing?
  • T33 rate of fire is too big without any benefits, 500-700 rpm is good enough

That’s the first half.
The second one is letters of guys discussing the psyhological effect and other things based on war expeiences. I didn’t read much of this part.

It’s not a translation to russian but I hope it helps. I also hope I understood it correctly as for the most part I was really confused to what this T33 actually is.

For sure it was interesting to read.

as per description

the T33 is a ground modification of the AN/M2 aircraft gun, in essence a more official version of the Marine’s “Stinger” weapon.

Rate od fire 1500 this is its calculated rate of fire? or a certain modification

the bullet feed system is also interesting

Well, if you write that it is not necessary, then the US definitely needs its own MG-15

That’s what I think too. But it’s written at the end of the first half so until I got there I was confused what is it.

Yeah, most likely it’s calculated by engineers. And as always it’s noticeably bigger than in reality :stuck_out_tongue:
In tests it states about 1200 rpm.

about the psychological effect is interesting

I heard about it during the creation of the AVT-40 in factory battle of Tula

The Germans refused to attack because of the heavy fire, thinking that every soldier was armed with a machine gun.

In this article it’s stated that small arms have limited psychological impact. Artillery and mortars are the way to go.
But, german prisoners said that americans using a lot of tracers was very demoralising as they could see bullets flying torwards them an were affraid of being hit.

Sadly the AN/M2 is 3 different aircraft guns. Depends on if it’s the AN/M2 .30 cal, AN/M2 .50 cal, or AN/M2 20mm

American equipment naming system at it’s finest.

Considering it’s being considered for an infantry MG, I’d say it’s the AN/M2 .30 cal. Also known as the aircraft variant of the M1919A4. Yes, the base gun for the Stinger. I’m not surprised they didn’t adopt it. Lotta ammo waste there
