By the way, this gun has a T20E2 with independent pistol grip. Let’s add this to the technology tree.
The photos below are of the Italian BM59 and M14 developed after the war, but will be substituted as images. Similarly, the Garand with pistol grip and detachable magazine would be pretty cool.
It is a firearm that competes with the German FG42 and should be semi-automatic under normal circumstances, although it can be fully automatic with selective fire.
If the T20E2 is added as a BR5 rifleman weapon, the M2 carbine can be moved to an assault/tank crew only weapon. That is essentially a submachine gun. 
And if the M2 carbine is moved to an assault weapon, then further M2 carbine variations can be added to entertain the US player.
These are variations of the M1 carbine and post-war variations, but since the AS44 is in the game, it would not be out of place to have these as new variations of the M2 carbine. It is a fantasy that should be tolerated.
