T-50 got nerfed?

The armor values of the T-50 tank got decreased to 37mm. When I initially saw this I thought I was suffering a case of Mandella Effect because I distinctly remember that the T-50 had all-round 45mm of armor protecting it. I was confused, but I didn’t pay too much attention to it since I don’t play this tank anyway. Then I saw a video by Quadro from a month ago and in it the T-50 indeed had 45mm of hull armor. What gives?

I decided to check War Thunder wiki and it seems they decided to change the valus there as well.

What’s going on? Why the change? Was there some “breakthrough research” that showed that the T-50 in the past had 37mm and not 45mm of armor?

I’m surprised no one’s talking about this considering many people love this tank. I haven’t seen this change be mentioned in any posts by the devs/moderators or any update notes going back 2 months. Maybe I just missed something?

They can always add the T-126 to act as a more armored T-50 but I would like to see the T-80 light tank first, its 65° of elevation would finally see use against infantry high up in the buildings on urban maps.

I’m not so concerned with the “nerf” itself. I don’t play this tank so the change doesn’t really affect me. I’m more concerned with the “why”. Why the sudden change? Why did no one mention it?

I would just like to add onto this (since I wasn’t aware). According to wikipedia there are 2 variants of the T-50. The T-50-2 (presumably this is the one in the game and it indeed has 37mm of armor) and an older variant that was mentioned by Mr.Skyguard above, the T-126(SP) which had thicker armor.

T_50_armor

(Still doesn’t answer the question of why this is adressed only now and why it wasn’t mentioned)

It was changed in WT due to new sources that confirmed 37mm of armor and since Enlisted and WT share the same models it was simply changed in both games. Weird that It wasnt mentioned here though.

Enlisted will also get new cockpit models for the early FW-190s, Ju-87s and the Su-2 because they are updating them in WT soon.

yes, exactly. I was wondering why I was being destroyed so easily. Now this atnk is trash by all standards.

Really strange indeed.

Hey devs, if you are reading this: only the first prototypes of Jagdpanzer IV L48 had 60mm of armor, those that actually got used in combat but didn’t get the L70 gun still had 80mm of armor.

as WT wiki say, its 37mm now
