Being the German Panzer IV a medium tank that is now in Moscow, shouldn’t they change the T 28 which is a heavy tank for a T 34 which is a medium tank?

The T-28 is a medium, not a heavy, and the gun is very comparable to the early Pz-4, whereas the T-34 greatly outclasses it.

T28 is Imo better than Pz4E.
The gun has almost 600m/s velocity and around 68mm of pen, which is much better than the german 75mm’s 385m/s velocity and 56mm of pen.
The T28 is better in firepower, suvivability, anti infantry and speed while the Panzer IV has better armor and main gun reload.

Yes - in a game and on paper it looks a lot better… except speed - it isn’t appreciably faster - the P4 is marginally slower than the original T28, and a fair bit faster than the up-armoured one.
But even the uparmoured E still has large areas with 20-30mm, and shot traps for Africa. In WT it is a little bit tougher for the early P4’s - but only to the point of not being a pinata like the earlier one is - it’s still not very tough at all.
And if they give the P4 HEAT that’ll be overkill… so maybe they wont.
In real life they were ancient clapped out things with inadequately trained crews and bad tactics…

Just had a look - it says T-28, not T28E - so the P4’s AP shot will be more than enough to kill them.
Not really (I personally don’t have the Pz 4 yet so idk what ammunition it uses in game) but if it use HEAT ammunition in game the T-34 will have counter…

Imo, I would add StuG-3A and Marder 3 along with t-34
Marder 3 one shots everything it sees
StuG-3A is a tank destroyer like Pz4 but with more sturdy armour

If the Pz 4 F1 get HEAT, yes I see it possible (with HEAT the Pz4 can penetrate the T-34 at any range (because HEAT doesn’t lose pen over range) but I’d like to see more counters for it (like the Pz 3 J equipped with the KwK 39 that can penetrate the T-34 at close- medium range and like you said something like the StuG which is armored better…
Idk about marder tanks tho, think they’ll get shot down by infantry before even entering the battle…

Also, larger maps are confirmed for Moscow so it can work on those maps
But I would also much rather see the StuG-3 as it’s better at brawling and forces players to aim at weakspots
Maybe if they load the tanks 50% HE, 40% APHE, 10% HEAT?
Or give heat to the stug 3A, if it was around at the time
Given that it is just the basic T28 (I think) the normal APHE is plenty - no need for HEAT at all.

This T-28 we have right now is probably the C variant. It has much less armor than the E variant but in return the weight is only 25.4 tons, meaning the 500 HP engine gives it almost 20 HP/T.
One of the T-28 variants was later up armored to have 70mm in some areas, and some were equipped with the 76mm L-11 cannon found in the early KV-1 and T-34’s.
As for what anti-tank weapons the germans wielded, their best choices at the time were 75mm HEAT (Still rare in 1941), the short 50mm gun (the most modern version being the Panzer IIIJ and H variants), the Pz Jager I and Marder tanks (although these are open top and thus very vulnerable).

Well HP/T isnt everything. The length-width ratio of the T-28 was very bad, it had no neutral traverse and also had very high ground pressure due to the thin tracks, leading to it getting slowed down by soft terrain a lot, and it being difficult to steer.
There were prototypes that featured the L-11, the F-32, and the F-34 76.2mm guns, as well as ones with the 85mm F-30 and 95mm F-39 guns.
The L-11 variant is said to be the one that entered combat. This wouldn’t be surprising as many prototypes saw combat (like KV-220 and SU-100Y).
The gun in the picture is an F-32 gun.
