Switchable loaded tank's shell without having to shoot it out

Isn’t that a basic mechanic thing a tank suppose to have?

Agreed. This should be a thing.

A method like pressing R twice to switch over, a bit like World of Warships, would be welcome.

Especially with tanks/trucks with magazine fed like T-60 or Flakpanzer, in order to change a type of ammunitions you have to shoot the current out is just look dumb lol

sure but it would be twice as long, time to remove shell time to load new shell,

I mean, a fair trade-off for not having to waste ammo and announce your presence to your potential target.

Also, reloading magazine fed weapons in vehicles, especially at overheat, it’s awkward when you spent 15s waiting for a cooldown to just be left with like 5 rounds in an MG.

Yeee but we could add more time to replace shell :parrot::parrot::parrot:

There is a button for that, its called mouse 1 :parrot::parrot::parrot:

Typically it’s way longer to unload a already loaded shell in a tank, firing it would be quicker

Yes, absolutely. This is particularly necessary when playing tank destroyers, which usually carry very few ammo and it’s best to preserve it as best as possible. Like StuGs, Marder, Dicker Max, SU-76m, etc. Also shooting randomly alerts your target if they’re smart and are looking out for you, and being sneaky is crucial for a tank destroyer. Let us have the option to switch ammo after it’s loaded, even if it takes longer, I prefer that instead of wasting valuable ammo when I need it the most, and revealing my location too. But still let us have the option to simply fire the shell out, for those who don’t care.

Also now that we’re at it, being able to select different ammo load out would be nice too. I don’t need that many smoke shells in my tanks. For example.

No. Without disassembling the entire cannon, there is no way to get a loaded shell out of a cannon other than shooting it and having the shell eject…least that I’m aware of. Ain’t like a small arm you can simply rack the action and eject the loaded round

I see that, I didn’t knew. That makes sense. Well, at least being able to select the ammo load out before spawning in battle or in the squad menu should be possible. This will help ammo preservation.

Now that I think about it, if releasing a shell once it’s been loaded it’s unrealistic. Then we should have the option instead of not loading at all until you decide which shell you want to use, depending your target :joy: I guess, that’d be more realistic. Helps tanks destroyers not revealing their position too.

If that’s the case about technical limitation, this suggestion would do.

Now that I’m thinking about a button to lock the turret to not turn when you’re looking around would be good, sometimes you just want to observe the surrounding without the tank turret to follow the direction your commander is looking at. Heroes and Generals has this mechanic and it quite useful in case you need a quick look but not want to lose time for turret to turn back to front firing position.

You can quickly switch, shoot, then drive into the reload if you don’t spawn inside the reload zone to get your lost AP shell back

Its actually weird to me that many games lack this option - this is not jusy enlisted :parrot::parrot::parrot:

Yeah, you can do that, it can achieve the same goal as he suggested. Point is, couldn’t the game be able to offer the more systematic way and immersive for the players? This method is looks like we’ve to improvise around the not well executed mechanic.

It’s just how it is I suppose. Best thing to do is grab that loader perk and work around as much as you can

This basic option hasnt even made it into warthunder in 10 plus years.

…its in easy red 2

Having to fire off a round can give away your position and screw you while you reload

Suppose using smoke mortars when possible before firing would help. Still another work around, but it’s something
