Suppression System would help the flow of gameplay

Need some people to chew on this and give opinions.

I think this game should have a suppression system similar to Battlefield 4 or Red Orchestra 2. Something that those games got VERY right was that soldiers under fire FEEL something and SUPPRESSION is a very real aspect to combat. Soldiers aren’t gonna sprint down a street if an MG is firing volleys down it. They won’t sit there in the open and bolt action an enemy if they are being sprayed at with SubMachinegun rounds.

The game already has a suppression system via artillery and being close to explosions. I think this system should also be translated into getting shot at by SMGs and MGs. It doesn’t have to be for long. Even only 1-3 seconds for SMG and 2-4 for MG. When I see an enemy? I should be able to spit rounds in rapid succession at him and he should become suppressed.

  • SMGs should SUPPRESS an enemy for 1-3 seconds when a certain number of rounds has been shot at someone. It should happen like BF4 and be done incrementally.
  • LMGs should SUPPRESS an enemy for 2-4 seconds when a certain number of rounds has been shot at someone. It should be done incrementally, yet much faster.

It doesn’t have to be ridiculous.

  • A simple screen blur, or a greyscale.
  • Slight accuracy drop and weapon sway.

This would IMMEDIATELY cause players to find cover. Like REAL soldiers!
I think these changes would really benefit the FLOW of each level and give classes like an MG TEAM a MUCH NEEDED use on the battlefield. It would also allow units like SMGs to really shine. With the new bolt action DAMAGE buff? I think this would really level the battlefield and give all players many more tools in the sandbox to play with. People would have to plan their attacks better and not just run around in the open.

the game already has such systems if you are hit you slow down and the aim drops, if there is an enemy explosion in your vicinity you are stunned, also I would like to remind you that the bots are already suppressed in case of high enemy fire they stop moving and lie down on earth, and for end we already have enough stuff coming out on the screen between stun, damage, smoke, rain, mud, fire etc we don’t need anything else

agree on this and just like irl in game if i get hvy fired at im def not going to relook in to that window and take couple of seconds to reassess the situation as im moving to another spot. Think thats suppression enough

Honestly, suppression is only for bad players because bad aim gets benefited and punishes someone that is might be better but can’t do anything because of some trash mechanic.

Random bullet deviation is already enough to punish me all day long.

Absolutely no need to equalise everyone more and annoy ppl by absolute bad mechanics.

absoutely need more bullet dispersion so more people can spam mg and smg and spray at everywhere and you get everybody being suppressed for 1 - 4 seconds
while having your enemy’s accuracy deducted for being suppressed

no lol

Game offers a similar yet effective approach to it already, no need for a suppression system ontop of that.

Agree, it’s very annoying to fire an MG at an enemy at long range only to have them take perfect aim and one shot you. The suppression effects in the games you mentioned are subtle but make it feel much more realistic, and Battlefield 4 is not exactly a game I’d call “realistic”, Enlisted is far more realistic than that.

Agreed, I was simply speaking of the mechanic, but yeah your right haha

big no from me.

ffs i hate that.

While I personally wouldn’t mind its introduction as I’m very familiar with and fond of the RO series I can see why it would be a bad mechanic for a game the likes of Enlisted, the degree of which of course varying by how it’d be implemented.
If the game was to receive a more realistic gamemode then sure throw it in there.

I remember Battlefield 3 having a nasty suppression system, which I didnt mind back in the day, but giving you less accuracy / making your perfectly on target shots miss, is something I am not hoping to see again in any game.

Its just a very “gimmicky” feeling mechanic that, kinda like a mini game inside a game itself… yea dont like the Idea…

A game called Vigor has it where you hear ringing if getting shot at, maybe that would be the best option we got if anything is added

I agree that suppression should be a thing. Although as I use MGs a lot so I’m biased.
It’s really annoying what you can gun down 1-2 guys but you get shot by 3rd one standing 2-3m away from them. That’s not how MGs should work.

Many times bots go prone without a reason. Maybe I wasn’t paying attention but I haven’t seen any pattern in their behaviour.
