Suppression and wounds?

Depends on the level of realism. Some things work in a game, some don’t. To be more specific, let’s take sniping for example.
Bullet drop works, wind doesn’t because you cannot estimate wind speeds, cross wind directions, and at the ranges we shoot in battles, it doesn’t matter really.
So within reality you choose what aspects work in your game.

Hell, I really hate these all realistic gamer people…you gotta understand, you are in a very wrong place. Join the Army if you want that hardcore realistic. Why bother playing the game? It’s fake war! It’s not real!

Talking about realism when they know nothing about what it’s like in reality. Do you know what it’s like when you running, carrying them, firing in different positions, while wearing your body armor? It’s over 20kg and it’s still possible. Man, and you trying to educate people from your room…

And nobody ever told you we should add any hilarious fictional contents. Why you become such an angry baby and make things up? It’s you who thought standing/crouching firing position is ‘unrealistic’. Why even bother firing when you can’t even stand up with LMG?

yes i do

if such realism was to be implemented, lot’s of these players who ask for hardcore realism would just quit and rage because “this game is too hard”

Maybe that’s why those realism worshipers didn’t join the Army - there’s plenty of hardcore realism, but it’s too hard for them.

I just hope people do not forget this is video game after all. The rule of educational contents or the military does not apply here, but so many nerd people are obssessed with realism or historical correctness. I do love realistic or historically accurate stuff, don’t get me wrong. I’m merely suggesting that there’s priority and the game always comes first, and they should know that realistic features are there only for verisimilitude of the game, not the realistic depiction itself. If it breaks the game by being ‘realistic’, it’s totally meaningless.

I wonder if they get the concept.

Would you say that to a player that is also a soldier irl?

Gameplay is a mess, there is no matchmaking, and if you want to use tactics to gain the upper hand in a match that is umballanced, you are faced with generic arcade mechanics that work against you, player and bot wise. The end result is that it hurts the team more than the player.
Let’s assume for the sake of the argument that you are level 3 in a campaign and you join a match with level 20+ enemy players.
What’s the point of setting an ambush for the enemy to help your team if it’s bound to fail?
What’s the point of flanking and attacking enemies from behind when one bot with 2 bullets in his back does a 180 and one shot kills you?
What’s the point of taking a sniper and finding a position overlooking the cap zone in order to soften the defences of the objective so your team can move in when the killcam gives your position away?
What’s the point of flying a CAS plane when no one marks targets on the ground?

As a matter of fact… what’s the point of thinking at all in this game when you can “aT@c” or “pr0t3c” mindlessly. When a player says “Hey guys, so matchmaking is crap and teams are unballanced af, but we could work around that considering so and so…” he’s hit with “go join the army realism worshiper”. So that player instead of thinking in a unballanced battle: “so i’m outleveled and outgunned, let’s see what i can come up with to gain the upper hand and help my team by THINKING” will 90% of the cases will “aT@c” the cap zone with a BA hoping for the best.

I guess you missed 3 things in that video.

  1. Lafette tripod right in front of him.
  2. the 7 or 8 failures to feed due to the fact that if you don’t properly brace a recoil operated machine gun, it fails to cycle the action, hence the term “limp wrist” present in the video.
  3. after 90 seconds he couldn’t aim down the sights with it and shot it from the hip.

That’s your problem now, isn’t it?

so?
the video was meant to show that you indeed can fire am MG42 from without a bipod
and looking at the barrel it would definitely be usable up to at least 10m, maybe even 50 if you really tried to be accurate

Oh, stop being such a crybaby. Your ego and obssession is not constructive. Everyone has proven that you are plain wrong. Being obssessed with ReAlItY, then why you are denying it so badly? Guy’s showing you a video shooting MG42, I was talking to you from my own experience of live fire exercises.

It is just possible in real world, son. Real world YOU asked for. And also, it’s entirely acceptable for various balancing reasons, just like I mentioned before. Long story short, it’s both realistic and good for the game.

So I’m going to ask you a question here, what exactly is your problem? People didn’t agree with you and that made you cry?

  1. Are you suggesting he should have also hoisted the tripod ?
  2. I believe that issue is solved by drums ingame and for some odd reason Ive got feeling he aint exactly trained to use Mg42, like wehrmacht gunners were.
  3. Or was just more convenient way to fire as he most likely still aint trained machinegunner.

It certainly is, doesnt make it any less cringe worthy.

Is that your attitude regarding all discusions in general? Just because we’re debating smth and by definition in a debate people don’t have the same point of view doesn’t mean the other side is a crybaby.
I could ask you the same thing because in my view, you could be the crybaby that’s afraid that someone will ruin his perfect little game and is throwing a fit.
But that sort of attitude is smth i look down upon and it helps no one, and the only eason i bring it up is to show you that it works both ways.
That being said, so far i’ve been respectful and insulted no one, and in my posts i’ve described problems that i encountered and debated possible solutions for them. Are they perfect? NO, but that’s the point of debating, pros and cons.

PS: i saw your comment about the m249 but i decided it would be better to leave it be to avoid digressing since we’re not comparing apples to apples.

And sicerely, i’m not sure how you got the ideea that i’m overreacting. It might be the impersonal nature of texting at play…
