Suomi Compensator

Suomi Compensator has been in the game files for a while now, it would be very interesting to be added to the TT and be Germany’s BRV SMG

The Suomi KP/-31 with compensator is a refined version of the famous Finnish submachine gun that stood out for both its accuracy and burst control. The compensator—a machined part directly on the barrel end, with three upward-facing holes—was added to redirect the muzzle gases, reducing muzzle rise. This made a huge difference in combat, especially in automatic mode, making the weapon extremely stable even with its high rate of fire (up to 900 rounds per minute).

This feature made the Suomi one of the most controllable SMGs of World War II. It was possible to maintain accurate bursts even at medium ranges, something unusual for the time. The compensator slightly increased muzzle flash and lateral noise, but the gain in control outweighed these negative effects—especially in defensive positions or urban combat.

Historically, the Suomi KP/-31 was officially adopted in 1931 and used to great effect during the Winter War (1939–1940) and the Continuation War (1941–1944) against the Soviet Union. The compensator-equipped model began to appear more frequently after 1941, with improvements in finish and adaptations for use in fortifications (such as the famous Finnish bunkers, or korsus). The weapon was so respected that it inspired the design of the Soviet PPSh-41, particularly its 71-round drum and the use of the compensator itself.

Actually no, the SJR actually did not improve the guns controllability in any manner.
Infact, it caused minor issues such as snow & soot getting trapped at compensator which eventually drained to barrel and in worst cases jammed the bolt when frozen.
“Minor” issues that could be prevented by proper care of the gun.
Note that KP-31 was precises machined and tolerances were quite tight, if I recall the Kp26 was made with such tight tolerances that gasses such as mustard gas could not get into gun.
Cant remember was the Kp31 made to same standards il check later.

But anyway, inventor of SJR remains unknown to this day. The father of the gun Aimo Lahti would have court martialed the person who added SJR to the gun.

Here you can see the Kp31 doesnt really rise at all without compensator, thanks to rather
heavy weight.
And “pneumatic buffer” that reduces the recoil of bolt “hitting” back of the gun.

Drum was almost 1:1 copy of the suomi kp31 m37 drum.

Compensator in this case the SJR was never copied by soviets, they went with the original notched barrel shroud of original Kp31.

That KP-31 in the videos thumbnail looks like a cool possible event or premium gun

if this compensator is honestly worked out with the weaving effects of a muzzle flash, firstly, nothing will be visible during firing from this SMG because the slots in the compensator look up, and secondly, the Germans will receive an SMG with high accuracy, low recoil and high damage per shot at a distance (compared to the PPSH 41) because the characteristics of such a suomi in terms of recoil control will definitely have to surpass the premium version, then adding to this the best attack aircraft of rank 4, this SMG will definitely become, if not an improved Kenders machine gun, then it will clearly claim its place as the best SMG in the game.

its “bunker” version, designed spefically to be used from tiny peep holes of said bunkers.
No front sights and so on.

rather that ^

Its actually one of the reasons for quite long barrel, 314mm.
With standard 9mm used by the time there was no muzzle flash. Gasses cooled off just enough in long barrel to not produce muzzle flash.

Would make for an amazing Finnish speaking Event Squad.
