Suicide bombings

I do not know this system, but if you say the points you need are getting higher, you might convince me.

There should be a penalty for dying on the game, or a Bonus for Not Dying.

Rewarding Low KD ratio’s is probably the only thing that might change this, some players will always kill them self’s.

There is always an emotional component to this, if a Tank Kills you, you grab a plane and try and kill him .

I think the suiciding thing is really bad myself but apart from rewarding those with low KD ratio’s I am a loss to figure out how to encourage players not to do it.

Besides the spawntime restrictions, as already mentioned above by other comrades:
No kills count if your airplane crashes 1-3 seconds after you drop bombs
or
no up movement detected.

In WT, every next trip in battle on the tank costs more. The first, for example, can be free. The second require you to score 400-700 points as an infantryman.
The third one requires you to score another 800-1100 points.
The fourth another 1200-1600.
Fifth 1800-2300.
The sixth 2500-3000, etc.
Increase these numbers by 30-40% for Aircraft (Sturmoviks and Fighters with high amount of bombs or missiles).

I think the Bombs should explode on Impact and kill the plane if there dropped to low

Yes, and that’s why it’s as dumb as possible to make a rock-paper-scissors system, where the plane destroys the tank even in the hands of a noob
Any kill should require skill

If you suicide bomb, you are already mentally prepared to die.
If the bomb explode directly, your chances to avoid destruction are getting significantly lower as tanker.

I just want grey zone gone, it’s not working with the current combined arms game. Devs clearly thought about grey zone with ONLY infantry in mind.

Not really. If you’re 100m away from enemy cap, you’re definitely not in grey zone. Those tankers actively support infantry. You KNOW when someone just wants to farm kills while being immune to infantry when he’s on a hill a good 300m away from battle. Those I have no pity for. Not an idiot? True. Scummy? Also true. As such a good kamikaze in the face is an appropriate reward for a camping kill farmer scum I say

I have never been able to drive away from a bomb that’s dropped, unless it was to far away to begin with

They just made it even easer for planes to spot tanks and that’s half the battle in killing them, once there spotted there dead meat, it is very easy to hit them with a bomb when you can drop it 10 ft from them and pull out and fly off before it detonates

It depends the size of the bomb, your tanks speed and size. An AB-41 tank in tunisia is more likely to avoid suicide bombings then, for example, a Tiger E.

Even in the Scout Cars I really dont seem to be able to get away from the SBD’s, Silent But Deadly, at least with the Stuks you have some warning

Depends. if a bomb hits you directly. You get a sound notification and the airplane a white hit marker. Those bombs, in my books, cant be avoided and mean automatically death.

Tanks with higher profile tend to blow up very easily. A Grant will almost never avoid a 500kg bomb, even if droped a bit far. A very lightly armoured tank, but very low profile one such as the Crusader is harder to bomb as the blast goes “over it” unless your bomb drop is accurate. Tanks with a lot of armour and low profiles are really tough nuts to crack, too. Like the t-50 in Moscow. Oftentimes only it’s tracks will break…

Terrain I think has a definite effect, if you park near a building the Bomb needs to land on the right side of it, or that’s how it seams to work

It does. The bombs now “dig” themselves a bit when they land, it’s why the blast is cone shaped towards the sky. It explains why the Grant is such an easy target: it’s so high! It will always get caught in the blast. It’s funny because the starter A13 with it’s bad armour is harder to blow up than the Grant.

How do edit your post’s I cant seam to figure that out?

You’re taking on too much. Sorry, but the infamous hills on Dne-d is the only place from which you can normally see the beach (thanks for the walls with narrow gates and a bunch of trees).
There are almost no places in the game where you can stand futher than 200 meters of the battlefield.
The player who killed 300 people in a game - won the game because none of the opponents got to the point. Only idiots complain about the fact that their team has a tank{infantryman\plane} that kills the entire enemy team.
Anyway in my opinion you have exactly the same tools to kill tanks in the gray zone - grenade launchers, explosive packs and your own tanks and anti-tank guns. They are all in balance as you can kill each other. Planes, on the other hand, do not require any skill. Literally - dropped + killed

It could be further argued that enabling every infantryman to be able to easily kill a tank with a fictional TNT change in one go is forcing the tanks to stay as far away from the action as posable

You don’t play in desert Tunisia, do you? Or Beloe lake Moscow? Also, I don’t care about Normandy beach maps 🤷 I skip those.

You’re correct about having the same tools to kill tanks however. Kamikaze in their face is one, if they’re camping far away from the battle :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
Same as camping in grey zone is a “tool” scummy tankers use.

Disrespecting kill farming campers is a big pleasure of mine, I’ll continue doing so for as long as there’s grey zone abuse. I never Kamikaze on a tanker supporting his team’s advance or cap defense however (those I have respect for.)

It is, and I think that’s fair. A tank is strong, but you have to be very careful and keep an eye on the situation, if I’m playing with friends I ask for cover, because ANY infantryman is dangerous.
But a plane is only afraid of the same planes and anti-aircraft guns (do you see them often?) All of this is specialized units, which are often not in the game, that way you can drop bombs all game without fearing for your life
