In the Burma map, the capture point at the top of the tallest building, the bank, is located on an upper floor, and the AI often gets lost during this process. Additionally, it’s overly easy to defend—by simply setting up some barbed wire and anti-tank obstacles, the AI can be completely stuck, forced to climb the wooden planks outside the building. This turns them into easy targets. Unfortunately, the other capture points on this map have similar issues: they are too large and often span multiple floors. In most cases, this map is filled with campers, with people all over the rooftops, making it a terrible experience.
Regrettably, I feel like the people at DF who design the maps don’t actually play the game. They keep creating these overly complex multi-layered maps without realizing how utterly foolish their AI is. Take, for example, the stranded ship on Guadalcanal—it’s truly unbelievable. The player’s AI often chooses alternative routes, only to end up getting picked off by campers. Meanwhile, even if the player-controlled character manages to take out all the enemies inside the capture point, they still can’t secure it due to insufficient numbers. This is an incredibly frustrating experience because it’s not the enemy that defeats you—it’s the poorly designed map and AI mechanics. Yet, DF continues to churn out terrain like this, and the multi-layered capture points in Burma only amplify this awful experience.
That hotel is a lovely building Id like to build a Lego modular building of it.
But for Enlisted? NOPE.
I dont understand why its so tall and most of the floors are blocked off anyway. So you go round and round and round the stairs to get to the top floor.
Its annoying too that as you say the enemy can just be spread out everywhere like campers as you say or the hotel enemies can just hide upstairs or you could have lots of your team in the building upstairs and they just capture downstairs.
Likewise the park point. Again, looks really nice, would like to replicate it in Lego.
But as an objective? NO! The only cover is the giant bell. Its very poorly designed.
I like the Burma map a lot but Im glad youve raised these concerns.
The ship at Munda is a good example as well.
I know when they first released the Solomon Islands maps I praised them because Ive been there including Munda.
Aesthetically they are awesome.
But gameplay, atrocious.
Tunisia maps as well just really poorly designed and dont get me started on Bulge maps.
Bulge are some of the worst because theyre not interesting and also SUCK as gameplay.
Same problem appears in the new gungame event. Myansera is the most miserable map to play because there are too many hiding spots and too many buildings. It almost feels like hide and seek instead of actual gungame
