Not to discuss progression in the game (though I do believe some parallel progression - like country specific, i.e brits, or some sort of tech tree, could be good), but I’d like to present a suggestion of things that could be included to the game in the next levels that are to be added in future updates. Things that would actually be interesting and that would make people WANT to grind these new levels (adding another useless Thompson variant, and crappy tanks, like you did in Normandy, does not do it, devs). Here is what actually fun new levels (40 to 50) for Normandy would look like:
Axis
Lvl 40 - FG-42 II (unscoped)
Lvl 41 - Me 163 Komet (rocket fighter, perfect for the all-so-common suicide bombing runs)
Lvl 42 - Tiger II (P)
Lvl 43 - 8cm Mortar (you gonna add it anyway, so…)
Lvl 44 - STG44 Sniper/Gewehr 98 Sniper / Gewehr 43 Sniper
Lvl 45 - MG42 w/ Fortress Belt (250 rounds)
Lvl 46 - Me262 Jet Fighter
Lvl 47 - A different tank (like a Flamethrower, SPA, TD, Rocket i.e Dicker max, Jagdpanther, Sturmtiger, etc.)
Lvl 48 - RPzB-54 (THE Panzerschrek)
Lvl 49 - Tiger II (H)
Lvl 50 - FG-42 II w/ GGP-40 Grenade Launcher (if I grinded all the way to level 50, then I deserve to be able to noob-tube with a FG-42)
Allies
Lvl 40 - M1928A1 Thompson w/ Drum Magazine (50 rounds)
Lvl 41 - Rocket Launching P-51 (at least 12 rockets, plus many MGs AND a 500lbs bomb - to make the iconic P-51 actually useable and realistically worth picking over the P-47)
Lvl 42 M36 GMC Tank (90mm gun)
Lvl 43 - M2 4.2 inch Mortar (Big Mortar equivalent)
Lvl 44 - Enfield Sniper (10 rounds magazine)
Lvl 45 - M1941 Johnson LMG
Lvl 46 - B-17 Flying Fortress (so Germany can use their Me262 jets against)
Lvl 47 - A different tank (like a Flamethrower tank, Self-Propelled Artillery, Rocket-launching Tank, Big Tank Destroyer, etc.)
Lvl 48 - M18 Recoilless Rifle
Lvl 49 - M36B2 Tank (90mm gun Tank)
Lvl 50 - Thompson SMG with 100-round magazine (you added the PP with 97 rounds, there is no excuse for not adding this)
Of course, this is taking into account current game mechanics, even better would be if new mechanics are added (like radio operators 3 with the ability to call rocket artillery, v2 strikes, railway gun strikes, etc. or something like that).
i don’t think b-17 should be added instead why not have the meteor or the p-80 shooting star since that was designed and got a prototype out in 1943-44
This amount of levels cannot be applied to other campaigns like Moscow and Berlin without breaking the historical accuracy(whatever is left of it) where if we follow this trend, we will get stuff like SKS-45, T-44 and IS-3 in Berlin just like the Mkb 42(H) destroyed the historical accuracy of Moscow.
Sure there are still some historical vehicles on existing campaigns like the just added T-34 obr 1941 and the KV-1 in Moscow along with the T-34 obr 1942 and a much newer model KV-1 in Stalingrad but the problem is the German side not having tanks to deal with them without breaking the historical accuracy of their respective campaigns.
Tunisia well its inevitable to get Tiger H1 one day and if they want to go crazy, add Mkb 42(H) there.
Tunisia didn’t have tigers and flies if I’m right, they appeared later in other regions of Africa. But still you are right about HeStoRicAl AcuRaCy which gets broken more and more. Moreover, 45y vehicles and guns will completely destroy balance and make this war theater even more ugly
Less grindy, but you are paying for something you should already be able to use with the premium account, I would prefer an upgrade to the xp of the premium account rather than another 30 euros for a campaign with only one map
Either the devs rework in the grind system or they could add squads from other nations with same guns. I prefer, at some point, to stop adding new toys, instead working on new maps and locations + as mentioned above foreign squads. Assaulter IV in Normandy could be a British or Canadian squad, because… Why not?
The only thing some campaigns are missing, without taking in consideration some ridiculous prototypes are in fact:
Foreign squads.
