Please make it so plane machine guns have a more audible difference in sound compared to gorund machine guns. I keep getting shot down because I don’t know I’m being shot at and the first bullet that hits always seems to make me instantly spin out of control. Has anyone else had this issue?
maybe the 3rd person on plane is nice
We 100% need third person on planes.
No because the entire game is 1st person
No. If Enlisted was trying to be realistic or a sim sure, but it’s not. The only reason being “because other things are in first person” is not a strong or even good reason to shoot down the idea solely on that basis - especially when the idea is not only a nice feature but would improve the amenity of the game by just that bit more. War Thunder had 3rd person for planes even in sim mode. Even 3rd person without the HUD would be nice. Doesn’t even have to be free-cam. Planes aren’t like the tanks in this game either were you can pop your head out with the commander for better visibility.
No
3rd person is dogshit for planes
They’re already extremely strong, if you add 3rd person it will make them even more powerful
So acquire competence in 1st person like everyone else, friend
If they add 3rd person I will bomb with absolute pinpoint precision thanks to years running CAS in WT
I kinda have to aggree on the third person being a nice addition. As much as I hate it (and I do, passionately), but the 1st person thing only works in VR. I am talking about planes specifically. IRL you can turn your head, while the rest of your body still feels the controls and the plane. So you actually get a decent view. But when using a mouse and keyboard/controller, you can only really do one or the other - either look around, or control, and this takes away from realism.
So yeah, as stupid as it sounds, either a 3rd person view or just “nose cone” view (many pilots have reported that just like car drivers stop noticing their A-pillars, they stop noticing either the whole cockpit or a significant part of it) would add to realism.
This isn’t a question or issue of competence though. The way planes (and squads/vehicles) are implemented in Enlisted is already in need of a large rework, including a rethink of the bombs - you CAN have a view that allows you to see your plane and still have them balanced and counterable at the same time.
Planes need a rework all around and a lot of polish
But I don’t think 3rd person mouse acing tis the way to go
I absolutely enjoy 1st person dogfights and adding 3rd would remove that as well as make planes super easy to use vs other planes and ground forces
Yeah but planes are already OP besides thats how it was in the war there wern’t some fancy radars that told you where enemies are, you have to see and planes are much weaker than they look, a couple of well placed bullets can destroy an entire wing because they were made out of aluminium skin and some even out of wood. Also then it would be complete domination from people who play WT like me for 5 years. in WT that’s why the actual non-tryhards play only simulation because its more fun 1st person because yeah cool medals at the end of the battle but what have you achieved, its just some radar telling you to kill. I don’t even have a joystick and I still wipe floor in WT
We get it, you play a lot of War Thunder. I fly in real life, TANK in real life, and shoot IRL … I’d still like my video game to be a video game. That being said, 3rd person is needed. Some for the amateurs, some for the pros even. It’s safe to say, it’s probably “wanted” by the majority of the players. I see no real reason other than comments like yours against having 3rd person.
Well, first of all, radar technology was available during the war, some were ground based, relaying the information, but there were even the ones that were installed in the planes.
As for the puny weak planes, I refer you to these:
Ant there are tons of others you can find by yourself. Yes, planes sometimes did go down from a single hit or just a few shots, these things do happen, but saying they were generally weak is inaccurate.
Not to mention that “placing” a bullet/cannon round was simply not possible - you are moving, the target is moving, your guns are harmonized to a certain distance, which you simply can’t tell. Say your cannons are converged/harmonized at 1200 feet/365 meters. Can you tell if you are exactly that distance behind the enemy plane? Cause if you are 10 feet off, depending on your relative speeds you may not be hitting your target at all. Pilots didn’t really place their shots, they were either shooting in the general direction, or just aiming roughly for the engine, the cockpit, the fuel tank, whichever one presented an easier target. Any talk of placing your shots is… let’s call it absurd.
But what is even funnier is that no one was asking for a radar, we are merely pointing out that the current 1st person-view system doesn’t work very well.
Third person makes it way too easy and ruins the realism. No thanks
Completely irrelevant to adding something that would make planes even more powerful further ruining the infantry and tank experience.
Nor do I care what you do IRL, sorry.
The majority of the playerbase is worse than the CBT bots they replaced so I don’t really care if they want it as a crutch so they can suicide bomb even harder.
And it gets shouted down by loads of users every time the subject is brought up because it would be a bad addition
It would take Enlisted closer to WT: But with infantry than most people would like
What did he mean by this
Lmfao okay buddy
->people who pay for the game
No they are F2P leeches who usually dont pay and then whine about everything being “OP” because THEY dont have all the advantages
Fuck them.
Why would you need a 3rd person on planes? I understand WT doing it as it took them years and years to add cockpits to most of the planes.
We don’t need a magic ability to see behind or under your airplane, on every plane, which completely negates benefits of some planes which had a better cupola design than others.
Joystick, Track-IR, separate bind for camera controls - there are other ways to solve it.
3rd person view, requires the same extra button for camera rotation around, just as with 1st person view. All you do is making it much easier to spot targets.
H&G has 3rd person on airplanes, the end result is ability to maneuver your plane while keeping enemy in sight all the time - screw that, it kills a lot of tactics that you can use in dogfight.
I just can’t use Track-Ir, tried it many times, actually bought a couple over the years and given them all away/sold them. Just can’t turn my head while keeping my eyes on the monitor at the same time.
IDK, H&G became a kamikaze-riddled crap these days when it comes to flying, so I don’t even notice the other problems with it.
Camera-control binding could help, but the current head turning limits make no sense. IRL you can lean forward a bit, and that gives you a little extra view on your tail, whereas in this game you can barely check your 8 and 4 o’clock, and it should be something like 7 and 5. Depending on the specific plane model and pilot’s physical dimensions/flexibility/neck problems it could even be 6:30-5:30. Not to mention most aircrafts were equipped with a rear-view mirror, which we also do not have.
In your other post you mentioned the ability to see under your plane, which I gotta admit, I didn’t think of that when I was advocating the third person view.
So if the devs manage to code in proper head-body movement, and not just the head movement, I’ll be totally for the first person view only.
Warthunder DOES not have third person in sim mode. That is 100% false. The entire function of sim mode in Warthunder counts on you not being able to see every single spot around your plane.
