First , the doubling of the damage of BA rifles in the last update is unrealistic and excessive!
(In fact, with the same ammunition and barrel length, the damage should be equivalent to that of automatic rifles.)
Therefore, we are introducing into the game the elements of hit accuracy and reliability that exist as shortcomings of historical WW2 automatic rifles. The concept of accuracy is already implemented in the game, but we will add a new concept of “mechanical reliability” and add an element of jamming with a certain probability when shooting with automatic rifles.
If each gun can have its own value for the probability of jamming, it will be more historical and differentiated in terms of performance.
( SVT-38 has a higher probability of jamming than SVT-40, M1 Garland has a lower probability of jamming, but a certain “Garland Thumb” when reloading, etc…)
And in exchange for the “jamming” concept, set the damage values of BA rifles and semi-auto rifles equal or close to each other
its also unrealistic that we have to use our electronic devices to participate in ww2. we should have to go back in time to 1939-1945 and participate irl.
Semi automatics are less power, they have shorter barrels meaning less gas buildup behind the bullet to launch it, and any rifle calibre cartridge was more than enough to do the kind of damage we see which is why the slowest rof class in the game should be doing lethal damage since it can’t just double tap
Here Alpha and CBT tester
We already had the jam properties and for a reason they are no longer in the current version of the game
Not really for all. In comparison of G41 and G33/40, G41 has Barrel length of 550mm while G33/40 has only 490mm. But the damage? G33/40 does about twice more.
And also about Rifle-cartridge damage, It was deadly and strong, but not always done OHK even in real life. Being shot on less vital parts like arm, legs made bigger chance for target to live.
Yeah I mean if they really wanted a balance, why don’t they add a Jamming mechanism on Auto weapons, while making Bolt actions and Semi-autos reliable more? It at least would be better than now.
That’s actually a very good idea, there is some merit to this given the “star” system of weapon upgrades. If they implemented jamming for MG, SMG, and Semi’s, which could be decreased by "replacing"worn parts on the weapon per the upgrade system, thereby decreasing the chance of jams or misfires then this would be quite good.
It would open up the way to balance weapons more by caliber of round/muzzle velocity as well as adjust the overinflated dispersion characterisics.
It would require a new animation too of the soldier clearing the jam, perhaps even new perks as well. Lots of options indeed, and as you point out bolt actions would then hold their place at the pinnacle of mechanical simplicity and reliability.
So you want to completely screw new players that don’t have upgraded weapons, so should planes just have a chance to fall out of the sky too?
The damage wasn’t doubled. It was increased by 3-5 points (I don’t remember tbh).
And about jamming, I’d like to see them back and improved, but there is a large part of community that doesn’t want them.
So at least for now I’d make it only an option in custom lobbies for testing.
i have no issue with the bold action buff
you can have a semiauto that will one hit down and you have 8+ rounds in rapid fire
while bolt actions have a much slower ROF and will also one hit down with a better chance of insta kill
Just adjust the zoom, reload time, aimming time of BA.
This will make sniping harder, make BA not that powerful, but BA still has a high single shot damge.
i have unbinded zoom so thus am unable to use it, and im still sniping with it, no issue
and taking away its zoom would kinda make it usless to most people as it is a long range weapon
Thanks for the video.
It’s so cool. Yet I understabd why they decided to remove it
The jam occurred during the last clip reload. I took me 3 watches to find when it occurred. It didn’t last a long time.
I realised there were “jams” in the game a month after I started playing and only because I’ve read about them on the forum.
For how insignificant they were to the gameplay, people were crying quite a lot.
I think, they potentially overcooked them because they wanted players to notice them.
They should have just dialed down the incidence, particularly for BAs which didn’t really need them applied at all as part of the abstraction. They should have been levelled at MGs and SMGs as a means to “RNG up” their CQB effects.
