Suggestion for pacific theatre

Hi,
Today I want to talk about the Japanese army and how would it work if added to Enlisted

I will be using Iwo Jima as an example but there are tons of other battles that could be added.
Battles will be held on long range, japanese will be using bunkers which are dug up inside the mountains making it very hard to capture them but when Americans get close to those bunkers it’s pretty much Game over for the japs because japanese didn’t have a lot of SMG’s. Here is more information:

Let’s begin:

Japanese soldiers and their equipment

Japanese soldiers were extremely different from European and American soldiers, their tactics, weapons, way of fighting…

Let’s start with weapons.

SMG’s and close quarters
Japanese soldiers fought mostly on long range so they preferred rifles and snipers over SMG’s
They used MP-28, MP-34 and Type-100 SMG’s but these SMG’s saw limited use with the Japanese army.

If Japanese army were to be introduced realistically, only some squads will be able to equip one guy with SMG.
Standard Japanese SMG will be Type-100

The lack of SMG’s didn’t stop soldiers from being useful in close combat, Japanese soldiers were very…fanatic so they all had bayonets, katanas and long knifes.

In Enlisted, we can add the banzai charge
The banzai charge could work when a player gives an order to his AI squad to charge at the enemy

All the squadmembers will then attach their bayonets or draw their katanas and charge at the enemy. This feature is already present in the battlefield 5 and can work in Enlisted as a high risk, high reward tactic

Rifles

Japanese soldiers were armed with two variants of the Arisaka rifle.
The first one being the ww1 era Type 38 Arisaka and the second one being the type 99 Arisaka

The only major difference is the use of different cartridge so type 99 is a bit stronger
These guns had great accuracy, great sights (except the last ditch sights) and used the mauser bolt system which was great. These 2 rifles could be one of the best bolt actions in the game because of their great iron sights.

Japanese army focussed a lot into sniping so Japanese had a lot of snipers too

Machine guns and light machine guns

Japanese standard LMG was the type 99 ‘‘Nambu’’
It’s somewhat similar to the ZB-26 and Bren gun

But the coolest of them all is probably the Type 92 heavy MG

This thing was a true…monster

It fired at a very slow RoF but it also had little to no malfunctions, hardly ever jammed, overheating the barrel was almost impossible and one gunner could fire non-stop for 30 minutes without overheating the barrel. This MG would be the backbone of the Japanese army in Enlisted. It was mounted on a very stable Tripod and had very little recoil

I suggest watching this video for more information

Japanese main battle tank was the Type 97 Chi-Ha but this tank was quite awful compared to what americans had, I suggest making this tank more numerous than Sherman will balance it a bit.

That’s pretty much it, I will not cover up the American army because we already have them in Normandy

Sounds oddly familiar…

About whole idea, all cool and whatnot, but for now focus on those 4 campaigns that are in development. It can always be added later, I see no problem.

Type 2 A premium wepon please))))))

Similar to Red Orchestra2?

I want japan soooo much.

However they would need truly assymetric mechanics like superior numbers because Japan’s only AT as far as I’m aware were mines, towed AT guns, and lunge mines.

Lunge mines would be a lot of fun but as they’re literally a melee HEAT weapon, it might be slightly less effective than a bazooka.

Alternatively rather than the Pacific, we could have a Chinese campaign like ichi-go to have more even odds… with some creative freedom like giving the Chinese the Panzer Is and CV-33s that they had at the start of the war but I don’t think lasted past Nanking.

It would be interesting and fun but impossible to balance, the americans were straight out better at everything…

Except planes at that start of the war but the zero was already out dated by 1943…

Realistically, it’s impossible to beat the US military with WW2 era Japanese tanks. In real history, the Japanese soldiers had no way to fight the US tanks except by using bags full of explosives called “futon bombs”. (My grandfather was not even given a gun, he was ordered to fight with only that).
The Lunge mine was first used in the Philippines and Okinawa in 1944, but it was not used very often due to lack of supplies.

It would be great if they could use the warthunder models and add naval ships and small boats. Naval ships are no different from the US military.

Ok guys, :joy:
I know a lot of you played (or still play) Warthunder so you naturally stick to talking about tanks

But you forget the most important thing

Japanese had much less casualties than Americans in Iwo Jima due to the terrain and Bunkers
Now we can add LVT’s without shermans, it would be less hard to balance but the overall position of the battlefield made tanks weak to AT guns, Mines, Artillery…

If history says Americans suffer heavier losses than I say let’s try to imitate history

But off course, there’s always a ‘‘symmetrical balance’’ option, I always push more asymmetrical balance because that’s just how I want but it doesn’t mean we have to go for it

I guess just making the LVT-a4 VS Chi-Ha is a good balance because Sherman could not be deployed at the start of the battle so that can be balanced realistically

Lol now it looks like I ripped you off

I suggested it only because nobody else did it and it’s a bit lame having Germany in all 4 campaigns
Japan and Italy were a big role too

LVTs are pretty useless but I’ll take it, just be careful they gonna add premium type 2 A at the end.

Planes side it’ll be hellcats and crosairs fighting zeros and KIs so balanced asymmetrically.(the zero and ki out turn the hell cats and crosair but the crosairs and hell cats are faster and climb better)

I hope when Iwo jima get’s added, squads will already be long balanced (I hope)

But just as I said, SMG was useless on Iwo Jima Due to very long range combat

I hope so to

They did use Type 30 Arisakas too…
Also there’s all types of funny LMGs that could be implemented. Also the the SNLF used alot of German Guns, specifically K98ks, MP-28/IIs, and the MG-34.

I am not a fan of giving them that rifle because we have to give them something to compete with the M1 Garand

Japanese had no semi auto rifles so I would better give them very strong bolt actions

They had a shitty stripper-clip fed “copy” of the Garand called the Type 5. It wouldn’t be anymore anachronistic than the M2 Hyde
